1970 Ford Torino Cobra J-code on 2040-cars
Cosby, Missouri, United States
If you have any questions or would like to view the car in person please email me at: adrianeatthibert@ukhome.net .
Very nice 1970 Torino Cobra 429 Cobra Jet Fastback. This car is the J code ram air 429CJ. It has the dooe-r heads
and correct manifolds. The body is very nice with the best ford color ever of Calypso Coral. Car was painted 12-15
years ago but looks good. Most people are shocked when I tell them that. I think this car would place at most local
shows but not a trailer queen. There are small patches on the inside 1/4 drop-offs. It looks like it was in a
accident at one time as the passenger side drop off in the trunk is wrinkled but they must have put a whole 1/4 on
as there is no evidence of the 1/4 being cut. Inside is very nice. Chrome is very nice all the way around. Grill is
as close to perfect as could get. All gauges and lights work, even the seat belt light and the dome light when you
open the doors. Has the ribbon tach which also works. Dash is original with some minor blistering under the vinyl
but no cracks. This torino is fitted with a 3.50 traction-lok rear axle, stagger shocks, and 4 speed close ratio
transmission. This 70 cobra was originally a bench seat car but now has correct comfort weave torino bucket seats.
This CJ is now fitted with SCJ oil cooler, rim blow steering wheel, and rear window louvers. Over all this is a
very nice Torino with lots of options. Car runs and drives great. Would not be afraid to drive anywhere. This real
j code 429 CJ is priced well below other Cobras with 429's and shaker hoods. Would consider a cheaper 70-71 torino
as partial trade.

Ford lowers MPG ratings on six vehicles
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Ford has announced that it will be lowering the fuel economy ratings on a number of its 2013 and 2014 model year vehicles after an error was discovered in the company's internal testing data. The EPA has been notified.
Worryingly for Ford, the vast majority of the vehicles affected are hybrids, including the C-Max, Fusion and MKZ in both hybrid and plug-in varieties (where applicable). Also covered as part of the rerating is the entire lineup of 2014 Fiesta engines, with the exception of the ST, including the turbocharged, three-cylinder EcoBoost.
The C-Max was originally rated at 47/47/47 mpg, but dropped to 43/45/40 last year and now to 40/42/37.
Ford Mustang to get four-cylinder in Europe, but not US
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Fans of the Ford Mustang SVO, which was produced from 1884 through 1986 with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and a manual transmission, may be interested to know that Ford is reportedly going to introduce something similar for 2015. But don't get too excited if you live in the US, as Edmunds reports that the vehicle will be offered in Europe only. Boo!
According to the report, Ford will put a version of its EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder into the engine bay of the Mustang. The engine would be enlarged from its current 2.0 liters to 2.3 liters, taking horsepower from 252 to around 300. The well-known 5.0 V8 engine will also be available in Europe.
"The Mustang is uniquely Ford and has a huge fan base here in Europe. Now those fans have something to look forward to and we look forward to providing more details in the near future," says Ford of Europe CEO Stephen Odell. That's great... but why not offer buyers in the States the (likely) fuel-efficient turbo option, too?
2015 F-150 launch to curb Ford profits?
Thu, 30 Jan 2014Ford is making a big bet on aluminum with its new 2015 F-150, and it's possible that the decision will hurt the company financially, at least in the short term. After earning a record $8.6 billion in 2013, the Blue Oval does not expect to set another record in 2014. According to Automotive News, that's "largely attributable to F Series," says Bob Shanks, Ford's Chief Financial Officer.
To retool for the new F-150, Ford will idle its Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan for 11 weeks and the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri for 2 weeks. "3 of the 13 overall weeks occur during what normally is our summer shutdown timeframe," said Mike Levine, Ford Trucks Communication Manager, in an email to Autoblog. The extra 10 weeks will be preparing for the more aluminum-intensive construction for the trucks and will mean over 2 months of no F-150s being made. For comparison's sake, Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne just confirmed that the 200 plant in Sterling Heights, MI will be down for 30 days to retool for the new model, but obviously there are many more F-150 production variables than for the midsize sedan.
Levine notes that Ford is already running three shifts at both plants, and says the automaker has plans to ensure that there is adequate supply of the full-size pickups during the retooling process. The company does not want to suffer a shortage of the vehicle that accounted for 31-percent of its 2013 US sales and an even bigger percentage of its profits.
