1994 Gmc Safari Slx Extended Passenger Van 3-door 4.3l on 2040-cars
Austin, Texas, United States
1994 GMC Safari van. Seating for 8, dutch doors in the rear.
Great family van or work van with lots of good years left. Can remove both rear seats and fit full 8 foot sheets of drywall or lumber with the doors closed. Has tow hitch too. Well taken care of in one family since 1996. We have a folder of records of everything done since then. 168,xxx miles, but the engine and trans have been replaced about 50k ago...the service shop back in St. Louis double gasketed the oil filter, and the engine lost oil pressure so they replaced it. Just had a tune up and front brakes with rotors done less than 3k miles ago. The van has always been meticulously maintained and it starts and runs rain or shine, hot or cold. The van is equipped with the rear a/c unit, but it needs work. At least one a/c line needs replaced, so the a/c is not working. Other than that, everything works as it should. It does have an aftermarket cd stereo with usb charger for your phone and an audio input jack for your iPod or mp3 player. It has power locks, power front windows, cruise, etc. All work. Cosmetically it's in pretty darn good shape for a family van that's 20 years old. It has some stains in the carpet, but the seats are very clean. There are a couple small tears starting to come through on the driver's seat. Reserve is below blue book value on a "fair" van. The only reason it's not "good" or "very good" is the dr. seat and the a/c issue. CLEAN TX TITLE. Cash or cashiers check. Buyer responsible for pick up. |

OnStar RemoteLink mobile app coming standard on all new GM vehicles
Thu, 06 Jun 2013As an evolution and improvement of its OnStar technology, General Motors has announced that it will be expanding the RemoteLink Mobile App on most 2014 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new, aptly named RemoteLink Key Fob Services will allow users to remotely operate all of the same systems as the car's key fob, including locking and unlocking the doors and remote starting (on vehicles equipped with a factory remote starter) using a smartphone.
These Key Fob Services will be free for five years - starting from the vehicle's delivery date - but the full suite of RemoteLink features will continue to be offered only with a subscription (trial or paid). These premium features include contacting a live adviser, getting turn-by-turn directions and remotely monitoring the vehicle's diagnostic systems.

J.D. Power customer survey of dealers counts Cadillac, Buick as big winners
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Cadillac and Buick have taken the trophies in J.D. Power's latest Customer Service Index Study examining satisfaction with dealer service. Surveying more than 90,000 owners and lessees of 2009-2013 model-year cars, the study found that those with pre-paid maintenance packages were ten percent more likely to buy their next car from the same brand.
Dealer satisfaction scores have improved overall, Cadillac nabbed the luxury segment ahead of Audi and Lexus, taking the crown that Lexus held last year. Buick keeps the mass-market dealer satisfaction win in the family, finishing ahead of Volkswagen and last year's winner GMC. The study also found that service department use of tablets increased customer satisfaction, as did "best practices" like "providing helpful advice." Who knew?
You can find details on those and more findings in the press release below.
2014 Chevrolet Silverado tows in new configurator, microsite
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Judging by your continued enthusiastic response to configurator notices, dear reader, you enjoy speccing out new cars as much as we do. Better still, there tends to be even more ways to personalize, configure and bloat theoretical MSRPs on full-size trucks as there are with more ordinary passenger cars. In addition to trim level, engine and transmission choices, truck buyers usually have to specify items like cab configuration, bed length, number of driven axles, tow packages, gear ratios and all sorts of bits and bobs.
That's why we're pleased to see the DIY specification utility for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado come alive so soon after this week's Detroit Auto Show debut. While the configurator lacks pricing (General Motors hasn't announced numbers yet) and full options, you can still spec out your half-ton rig, and even print it out or email it to your friends. Beyond the configurator, the new model-specific site is pretty cool, too, with various videos and closer looks at the truck's new features.
The new Chevrolet pickup range won't be on dealer lots until sometime this summer, so whether you're a building contractor, an avid sportsman or just a guy or gal that loves full-size trucks, you might want to check out the link below to keep your appetite whetted. If you're more of a Sierra fan, well, it looks like you're going to have to wait a while - GMC hasn't updated its site yet.
