Background: I purchased this Jeep months ago from the 2nd Owner. It had been sitting for a year in the back lot of rural home. I topped off the fluids and after replacing the battery, I was able to drive it to its new home. Firstly, I threw out all the junk that the previous owner stored and began vacuuming and cleaning the interior. I then bought a 1981 cherokee and took hard-to-find parts to use on the Wagoneer. After much work, I began using the Wagoneer as a daily driver. However, I am getting ready to move and begin my sophomore year of college and sadly, cannot take waggy and must sell it now. So now its your change to acquire a 34-year old truck/ station wagon/ 4x4 in excellent, drivable condition. I drove this Jeep on a 120 mile road trip with no issues. I did all the hard work, now you can do the fun stuff!

AEV Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

After their rented 2007 Hummer H3 failed them during the brutal Rallye Aicha des Gazelles in Morocco, Amy Lerner and her sister Tricia Reina were on a quest to find the most capable production off-roader for their next competition - they chose a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Their next mission was to find a company with the competence to configure it to win. After poring over Internet forums and perusing countless magazines for an outfitter who could meet their demanding requirements, they sent their bright orange JK ("Crush" is the official color) to American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) for some modifications.
The Michigan-based team at AEV kept the Jeep's 3.6-liter V6 and automatic transmission stock, but replaced the hood with a tall AEV Heat Reduction Hood and added an AEV Snorkel Kit for water crossings (it serves double-duty as its raised height helps to keep the air intake out of the kicked-up dust on the trail). Front and rear off-road bumpers were bolted in place, and AEV skid plates were added to provide additional undercarriage protection. A pair of IPF-900 off-road lights improve visibility, while a 10.2-gallon AEV Fuel Caddy (located behind the exterior spare) added some range. The suspension was upgraded with a 3.5-inch lift kit with Bilstein remote reservoir shocks, and 35-inch Falken Wildpeak A/T tires (LT285/70R17) were mounted at all four corners on AEV's beadlock wheels.

Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
