I AM SELLING MY 1987 LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH KIT CAR.I REALLY DON'T WANT TO LET IT GO BUT I HAVE TOO MANY TOYS. THIS IS ONE OF TWO THAT I HAVE LIKE THIS. I TAKE THIS CAR TO SHOWS ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND. REALLY ENJOY DOING IT. THIS IS DEFINATELY AN ATTENTION GETTER. DRIVING TO THE WAWA FOR COFFEE, PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS SNAPPING PICTURES AND ASKING ABOUT THE CAR. JUST SITTING INFRONT OF MY HOUSE, I HAVE PEOPLE STOPPING FOR PICS AND HAVING A CONVERSATION ABOUT BOTH OF THEM. TO BE STRAIGHT UP IF YOU DON'T LIKE TO MUCH ATTENTION THIS CAR IS NOT FOR YOU. IF YOU FEED OFF OF ATTENTION THIS CAR WILL DEFINATLY GET YOU THAT. THE CAR IS BUILT ON A 1987 FIERO. IT IS TITLED AS A 1987 FIERO. THIS HAS THE 2.8 LITER MOTOR IN IT. IT IS ALSO A FIVE SPEED TRANSMISSION. THE INTERIOR IS THAT OF A FIERO I DID NOT BUILD THIS KIT. THE BODY IS IN GREAT SHAPE EXCEPT UNDER THE FRONT BUMPER THERE IS TWO CRACKS.YOU CAN SEE THIS IN THE PICTURES. THIS IS FROM THE CAR BEING SO LOW IT SCRAPES WHEN TURNING INTO PARKING LOTS OR DRIVEWAYS WITH AN INCLINE. I WAS GOING TO TAKE IT OFF AND REPAIR IT BUT NEVER GOT THE CHANCE. THE BOTTOM SECTION,ONLY 4 INCHES WIDE,COMES OFF WITH SEVERAL NUTS AND BOLTS. THE CLEAR COAT IS PEELING OFF AND THE PAINT IS FADED.I DEFINATELY WOULD SAY IT CAN USE A PAINT JOB.BUT THIS STILL DEOS NOT AFFECT THE ATTENTION IT GETS. SIDE WINDOWS ARE PLEXIGLASS AND THEY ARE BOLTED IN. THE AIR CONDITION WORKS GREAT. LIGHTS ALL WORK. GAUGES ALL WORK. THE ENGINE RUNS REAL GOOD. I USE MOBIL 1 OIL IN THIS. AND THE OIL GETS CHANGED EVERY SIX MONTHS.EVEN THOUGH I ONLY PUT ABOUT FIVE HUNDRED MILES A YEAR ON IT. BEFORE BIDDING IF THIER ARE ANY QUESTIONS EMAIL ME FIRST. I WILL ANSWER THEM WITH THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. MILAGE MAY GO UP ALITTLE FOR I STILL TAKE IT TO SHOWS UNTILL IT SELLS

1963 Lamborghini 350 GTV still looks fresh on Pebble's Concept Lawn

Sun, 18 Aug 2013

We already brought you a gallery of Lamborghini's latest rockstar, the Veneno, from it's vaunted spot on the lawns of The Quail here in Monterey. Apparently the Italian brand didn't want the Pebble Beach crowds to feel left out, so it brought the supercar along to the Concept Lawn here as well. Not to miss out on the classics action Lamborghini has matched the Veneno with the car that started everything for the company: the original 1963 350 GTV prototype.
With 50 years separating the Veneno from the debut of the hip 350 GTV at the Turin Motor Show, Lamborghini cheekily mentions that it has stuffed "100 years of innovation in half the time." We'll leave the judgments of historical significance in the capable hands of the Pebble judges, but will agree that the original Lamborghini still looks amazingly hot, decades after its reveal. Apparently the classic 350 GTV doesn't travel a whole lot either, so we're happy to have a chance to lay eyes on it here.

Lamborghini invades Miami with Aventador parade, high-speed runs at airport [w/video]

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Lamborghini is only starting to throttle the engines on its 50th anniversary celebrations. The company lined up fifty of its Italian jobs for a cannonball run down the south runway at the Miami International Airport, the Aventador Roadster breaking 200 miles per hour, then ran them all through the streets of Miami to be properly introduced to one of their most ardent clienteles.
Contrary to the appearance of the image above, no airplanes had to wait to taxi behind the ground-based flyers. Not that any of them would have had to wait long, though, since the 700-horsepower Aventador Roadsters were exceeding the lift-off speeds of commercial airliners by at least 30 mph.
There's a press release and a video below, along with a gallery of high-res photos of the day's events. Enjoy.

LAPD now on patrol with its own Lamborghini Gallardo

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

Last year, the Dubai Police made news by purchasing a string of supercars to act as patrol vehicles around the city. Apparently, a generous family in Los Angeles thought that the LAPD needed to keep up with the Joneses, because they recently donated use of their Lamborghini Gallardo. Unfortunately, you won't be seeing the Italian coupe in any high-speed chases, as it's being used exclusively for display at charity events.
The Lamborghini has arrived courtesy of Nathalie and Travis Marg, proprietors of telecommunications contractor Light Source 1 Inc. They approached the force with the idea to use the supercar because "they admire what the LAPD does for the community," said LAPD Sergeant Frank Preciado to Autoblog. Galpin Auto Sports was tapped for the custom wrap to make it look like a police car, and according to Sgt. Preciado, the police force can use the car indefinitely. Importantly, the LAPD says no tax dollars have been expended on this vehicle.
The LAPD Gallardo will be on display to the public at Los Angeles County Air Show on March 21-22, and Sgt. Preciado said the police have already received many inquiries to display the car at other events. The police have even set up dedicated Twitter and Instagram accounts to promote its newest addition. Too bad it won't be catching speeders anytime soon.
