Middletown, Ohio, United States

Countach 5000 replica body on custom tube frame chassis, with Corvette LS1 and Porsche 914 transmission professionally built by Renegade Hybrids in Las Vegas. Custom adaptor plate and high torque starter, Painless wiring harness, custom built fuel cell and fuel return system. Runs OBD2, pass key deleted.   Vehicle state inspected and titled by the Ohio State Highway Patrol as a 2011 self-assembled vehicle. turn signals, brake lights, horn, charging system work and headlights will turn on. Headlights have not been made to go up and down yet.  harness is wired into an OEM 2001 Corvette dash base installed in the vehicle. the column is corvette, and is basically mounted in but not enough for road use, as well as the steering rack.  the vehicle is able to be licensed but not able to be driven home.  The interior needs a lot of work, and the exterior needs some TLC and paint.  A lot of time and money was put into making the car start and run like a new car, which is the hardest part of a hand built car.  Suspensions are S10 4x4 based and uses custom made axle shafts.  I have hundreds of hours to get the car running and driving.  I will not give the car away.  I have spent over $30k getting the vehicle to this point.  If you want a Lambo this is the cheapest way to have one but with the reliability of a late model powertrain that is easy to work on and cheap to take care of.  Call me if you are serious.  I will be happy to answer any questions as well as take more pictures.  513 594 0923.

VW makes $23K on every Porsche sold, more than Bentley or Lamborghini

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

It's a good time to be in the luxury car business. In Volkswagen Group's financial report for the 2013 fiscal year, it is revealed that that Porsche enjoyed an operating margin of 18 percent. That means the Stuttgart brand made on average about $23,200 per car sold, according to BusinessWeek. Bentley wasn't far behind, and Audi (which was combined with Lamborghini) posted a 10.1 percent margin. This compares to only around 2.9 percent for the Volkswagen brand.
"Luxury brands are on fire," said Dave Sullivan, an industry analyst at AutoPacific. He said that the average profit margin is between six and eight percent. Brands like Porsche and Bentley have the benefit of competing in rarefied markets. Buyers looking at one their vehicles have fewer models to shop against and don't care as much about price. They can also charge more for options, which further boosts income, according to BusinessWeek.
In a way, we should be more impressed by the continued success from Audi. Its models generally have direct competitors in every segment from the other premium automakers. Plus, their buyers aren't the captains of industry who are shopping for a Bentley. Still, the Four Rings is leading rivals in sales so far this year.

Teen who stole Guy Fieri's Lamborghini gets life in prison [w/video]

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

If you're currently on a crime spree, we'd recommend against stealing the Lamborghini of a popular, bleached-blonde chef, lest you end up getting sentenced to life in prison. That's not to say 19-year-old Max Wade's life sentence was simply due to pilfering Guy Fieri's Lambo - an attempted murder charge for a drive-by shooting, among other crimes, also played a role - but we doubt it did much for his case.
You'll recall we last reported on Fieri's missing Gallardo Spyder in April of 2012, when it was reported that the Marin County Sheriff's Department and Mill Valley Police Department recovered the car from a storage container, that also housed the motorcycle Wade, then 17, used in the drive-by. Wade originally stole the V10-powered droptop from a San Francisco dealership in 2011, reportedly by rappelling onto the dealership's roof.
Wade was charged as an adult for his crimes, despite being a minor when they were committed, and could be eligible for parole at an unspecified date. That said, he's also facing a separate sentence of over 21 years, according to Boston.com. Scroll down for the news report from KPIX-5, the Bay Area's CBS affiliate.

Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo makes official debut at the Quail

Sat, 16 Aug 2014

Racing fans, meet Lamborghini's newest track weapon, the Huracán LP620-2 Super Trofeo. Designed for the one-make Blancpain Super Trofeo series, the Huracán picks up where its predecessor, the Gallardo, left off.
Its engine bay is home to a ten-cylinder, much like the road-going Huracán. Unlike the coupe, the racer boasts 620 horsepower, up just ten ponies from the LP610-4. But - and as buts go, this is a big one - the Super Trofeo tips the scales at just 2,800 pounds, nearly 400 pounds less than the standard model, thanks to the removal of the all-wheel-drive system. That's right, this Lambo sends its power to the rear wheels.
Aside from the single drive axle, Lamborghini has upgraded the car's aerodynamics, offering gentlemen racers the option of ten different settings for the rear wing, as well as new front and rear diffusers and adjustable front air intakes. Lambo has also fitted specially formatted Pirelli race rubber, and gotten development help from the racing gurus at Dallara Engineering.
