1977 Lincoln Mark V **only 84,000 Miles!** on 2040-cars
Rockport, Maine, United States
I am selling my 1977 Lincoln Mark V. I believe I am the 4th owner. It only has 84,000 miles and climbing as I drive it daily right now. It is in very good condition for its age. It runs very well and is equipped with the well known 460, 7.5 liter engine. The body is straight and the paint shines like a new car. There are a few bubbles along the very bottom of the car, but they are NOT soft and you can hardly see them unless you are looking for them closely. A few chips in the front, but that's to be expected of a 1977. The vinyl top is perfect! There are NO cracks, or tears in it anywhere! The tires are just like new. The interior is beautiful. No tears, or cracks inside. The ac needs charging and for some reason the clock stopped working a few weeks ago. I have no idea why. It was working fine. Drivers window is off track. Window motor is fine. It just passed Maine state inspection about 3 weeks ago. I have owned a few of these Lincolns and I must say this is one of the cleaner ones I have seen in some time. If you have any questions please call, or text me anytime at 207-691-0332. The car is For sale locally as well. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!

Ford announces bevy of recalls, 2 of which are recalls on recalls
Tue, 04 Nov 2014
Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
Lincoln needs a farewell address, not a new marketing plan
Tue, 09 Apr 2013
The trouble with Ford's Lincoln brand is that no one cares about it any more.
Not long after I heard that Mark LaNeve, chief operating officer of Ford agency Team Detroit, was moving to take over direct operations of the New York ad agency Hudson Rouge for Lincoln, I heard that JCPenney CEO Ron Johnson was ousted. The two events are connected.
NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs
Mon, 11 Mar 2013It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.
