The car is in excellent shape, you are not going to have any problems to drive it.
If you interested in the car, plz do not hesitate and make an offer, do not worry about my feelings if u think the
offer is low, the offer doesn't bite, so it will not shed my blood and I always can decline it, counteroffer or ...
accept it, you never know.
For sale is the one of the best street/track cars on the planet. However, what makes it amazing, no power steering,
is the reason I am forced to sell it. My doctor has diagnosed me with torn ligaments in my bicep and shoulder and
as a result, I’m forced to part with my favorite car in the whole world.
The second reason is that I passed 65 and it's getting more and more inconvenient to get in and out and the ride is
a noisier and shaky then I would prefer now.
I'm the second owner for this beautiful Lotus Exige 220 S and it was purchased originally with 11,000 miles, to
which I’ve put on an additional 57,000 miles myself.
Of the additional miles that I added 70% were on highways, 20% on the track, and 10% on the streets.
I stopped tracking it for 2 years now, and almost stop driving since the injury progressing, so the suspension and
wheel alignment tuned to perfect street driving.
The car has had no incidents at the racetracks or anywhere else, but unfortunately, a few years ago while driving
on the street an old Mack truck did not see that I was in front of it on a red light and started to creep towards
the light. Because the entire car is fiberglass and the truck had guard rails, even though it was an accident at
about 3-5mph there was damage to the fiberglass to the left rear which is visible in the photos. There was
absolutely no damage to anything structural, as it was purely a cosmetic issue, which is why I decided to not get
it fixed.
If u want to repair it, that's not a problem.
Today the fiberglass is not a problem to repair.
The Fibertech fixes the cracks and scuffs - heavy material that is a mix of Fiberglass and Kevlar - but very
strong.
"There are many benefits to using the Fibertech brand of fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) and fiberglass
reinforced concrete (GFRC) by Wilson Composites, LLC. It produces an unsurpassed building material with an
exceptionally high strength-per-dollar cost". "Our Fibertech products do not rot or rust, do not absorb water,
cannot be damaged by termites or other insects, and feature a long-lasting composite surface".
The car is super reliable, I'm not a poor man and never save money on cars, especially track cars of which I have
had many.
The safety driving on streets and especially on track is the most important issue and for that the machinery must
be kept absolutely healthy and money was spent without limits keep the cars in best shapes.
The very positive side of the Lotus is that parts are relatively inexpensive because it's a small car and easily
endure the pressure since it's a light car and was designed for track use more than for street use.
The car has some cosmetic wear and tear as any car with mileage.
The official name of the color is Canyon Red.
The sum of doors number 939 totals 21 - Blackjack Game winning number.
Although the car is now used for street driving only, it was prepped for the track - street (I drove to and
back from tracks in this car on these tires) from the start and includes many aftermarket parts from Sector 111:
Aftermarket Stiffer sway bar
Sector 111 slotted rotors
Pagid RS14 brake pads 60% - 70% left
Aluminum Radiator
New bushings
New Tie Rods
V2 Fuel Tank
V2 Oil Pan
Upgrade brake lines
Carbon Fiber larger roof scoop
Upgraded Intercooler
Trackmate
Rear Camera (Requires LCD display)
6-Point Harness System (However they are expired 2015)
Tires: Bridgestone Potenza R11 with 50% tread life
New, recently changed, stock OEM supercharger
Practically new Bilstein PSS10 adjustable suspension
New, just about 15,000 miles gear box
New Larini exhaust from Sector 111
The car was extremely well maintained by the Intermecanica in Mamaroneck, NY which is well known for dealing with
Lotuses only.

Lotus said to be planning new sedan, crossover [w/poll]

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

Lotus has been in limbo in recent years. After former CEO Dany Bahar revealed his plans to build six new models, its parent company was sold, Bahar was sacked, his plans were canceled and a new CEO was hired in the form of former Peugeot chief Jean-Marc Gales. The industry has been waiting ever since to find out what Gales would do with the storied marque, and now we seem to have some indication.
Reports coming in from Malaysia indicate that Jean-Marc presented to the board of parent company Proton a plan for Lotus to build a new sedan and crossover. Though details are scarce, and may seem downright blasphemous for an automaker that built is reputation on lightweight sports cars, it would not be the first time that the House that Colin Built has toyed with either idea.
The company presented the APX crossover concept at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, and the Eterne sedan concept as part of Bahar's far-reaching plans at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The new plans may use these concepts as starting points or could go another direction entirely.

Coca-Cola returning to F1 with Lotus sponsorship [w/videos]

Sat, 24 Nov 2012

Even before Red Bull Racing became a record-breaking three-time Constructor's Champion in Formula One, it has dominated conversations both as a team and as an energy drink. After seven years of "Red Bull this" and "Red Bull that," Coca-Cola is reportedly ready to jump into the F1 fray with its Sweden-based energy drink Burn.
Rumors had placed Coca-Cola's entry with McLaren F1, but it's actually Lotus that has secured the deal. We have no idea what the sponsorship will look like, but the website for Burn says that "We [intend] to foster that creativity by incorporating art and music in a way that will break the conventions of traditional F1 sponsorship," Lotus F1 team principal Eric Boullier adding "We are excited to partner with burn to build a new and innovative model for sponsorships that will combine experiences, content creation and social media..."
Since most - including this writer - have no idea what Burn is, we've included a couple of Burn commercial spots to help get us up to speed, which you'll find below. The 2012 season hasn't even ended, and we're already looking forward to 2013...

Lotus bankruptcy case dismissed in UK

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Times have not been easy for Lotus lately, so when its name came up on a list of companies scheduled for a liquidation court, it seemed like the end could be near for the fabled British builder of lightweight sports cars. As it turns out, Lotus was on the Companies Court Winding Up list in the UK due to a contractual dispute with a supplier, and the High Court has since dismissed the case.
According to Autocar, Lotus and the supplier actually resolved their issue earlier in the year, but the process couldn't be stopped until seen by a judge. The report says that the case was initiated when Group Lotus failed to pay some of its debts, which is probably a fair indication that Lotus is far from out of the weeds in regards to its financial difficulties.
