Burnt Orange Exige S 260 Sport. I am the third owner of the car and have pampered her. I bought her from a guy in San Diego who drover her to work and back. He bought it from an older guy in Houston, Texas. The paint is immaculate aside from a few small paint chips. No paintwork has been done other than the addition of a special UV clear coat applied to protect the carbon fiber. The title is clean with no accidents. The mileage on the car is 39,XXX, but the indicated is 24,XXX due to the instrument cluster having been replaced for failed gauges. There is a sticker on the door sill that states the mileage when the instrument cluster was changed. Mechanically in excellent shape and drives like new with all oil/fluids serviced regularly. The upgraded engine mounts add even more responsiveness and the LETSLA shift linkage increase shifter feel and precision greatly over stock. I lost the front two center caps at a recent track day and haven’t had the chance to pick up new ones. I removed the side vinyl “swoosh” because I don’t care for the look, but these can be easily reapplied if you want. Also, my camera has a few smudges on the lens so don’t worry there aren’t large sports all over the car!! Lotus bows out of Paris Motor Show
Mon, 16 Jul 2012The plan put forth by former Lotus CEO Dany Bahar was to explode the British brand into the high-dollar sports car segment and directly challenge its marquee names. The first explosion came with the surprise introduction of five concepts at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. What has continued to surprise, though, is that the explosions haven't stopped: parent company Proton has had troubles leading to a reworking of its Formula One involvement, its IndyCar effort has had a rough ride, Proton's sale to Malaysian conglomerate DRB Hicom led to a production stoppage, and while the company was reassured that it wouldn't be sold, Bahar was shown the door - along with four of those Paris concepts, as far as we can tell. Yet the company is still making highly regarded cars and going racing.
So it shouldn't be all that surprising that, according to a report in Car and Driver, Lotus won't be attending this year's Paris Motor Show at all. Lotus didn't have much to show off at the Geneva Motor Show or the New York Show as all development was halted for two months, and the new corporate owner and new CEO installed by that owner are still working through the details of its niche English property. We will hope this is nothing more than a step in the reorganization, and look forward to seeing the Hethel firm again in Los Angeles or Detroit.
EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi
Sun, 25 Nov 2012EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.

Lotus recalls 2008-2011 Elise, Exige and 2011 Evora over fire fear
Mon, 07 Jul 2014Lotus is recalling 860 vehicles after discovering that the oil cooler hose could detach from its fitting. Should the hose separate, it could spray oil on one of the lightweight car's tires, giving new meaning to the phrase "sudden loss of grip." The other case is, believe or not, more dire, as the spraying oil could hit the engine and ignite. Of course, neither situation is desirable, hence the recall.
The vast majority of the affected vehicles (780 of the 860) are the 2008 to 2011 Elise and Exige, built between November 2007 and July 2011. Another 80 Evora S coupes from 2011, manufactured between September 2010 and September 2011, are also included in the recall.
All repairs will, naturally, be completed free of charge. In the Elise/Exige's case, that means replacing the hose fittings, while the affected Evoras will get a new hose assembly.
