1964 Mercury Comet Cyclone 289k Code Clean Condition Black Plated California Car on 2040-cars

Year:1964 Mileage:58123 Color: was originally turquoise
Location:

Seattle, Washington, United States

Seattle, Washington, United States

I have a 1964 mercury Comet cyclone in excellent condition, the car came from california so it is very solid ,with no floor pan rust, no trunk pan rust, no quarter panel rust, no rust underneath the doors or in the engine compartment. This is an original black plated car from california that has been with the same family most of it's life.

The cyclone still has the original 289K code engine with the original drive train. It has the original C/4 automatic tranny, power steering, 4 barrel carb and manifold straight from the Ford factory.  This is a numbers matching car with nothing altered or changed.

The interior is in great shape with the original black bucket seats all stock all original.  The exterior was originally turquoise, all the emblems are there nothing is missing or broken , all the side trim is there , wheel lip molding all stock all original.  The bumpers are still in good shape, the grill is not dented, all the comet letters are there.

The tachometer is still on the dash, the engine is very strong and doesn't knock, the tranny doesn't slip the brakes were all done. The car has a dual muffler and exhaust system for more horse power!

This cyclone is an easy restoration since it is all there, running and driving , clean not a rust bucket a true survivor.

If your looking for a clean 1964 cyclone with an easy restoration then call me at 206 817 8387 or email me for more pics.

I can help with loading the car and finding you a transporter also!

Thanks and good luck bidding!

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Ford announces bevy of recalls, 2 of which are recalls on recalls

Tue, 04 Nov 2014

Ford has announced five separate recalls, affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.
It's not been a great couple of weeks for Ford. On October 30, the company announced a 205,000-unit recall, and yesterday, it was revealed that the Ford brand's year-over-year sales were down over 5,000 units while the company itself was down 3,000 units over through October. Now, the company has announced five separate recalls affecting 202,000 vehicles built between 2005 and 2014.

NHTSA will investigate some Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ models for power steering issue

Tue, 07 Oct 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening an investigation into the 2010-2012 Ford Fusion, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ, the 2012 MKZ Hybrid and 2011 Mercury Milan because the agency has hundreds of complaints of electric power steering failure in these models.
According to NHTSA's data, it has received 508 complaints of the power steering allegedly suddenly malfunctioning and resulting in increased effort to turn the wheel. In four incidents, these failures resulted in loss of control and crashes. According to the reports, in some cases a power steering warning message came on as the fault occurred, and other times the system restored itself by turning off and then restarting the vehicle. NHTSA said it has also received further field report data from Ford, but that information hasn't been publicly released yet.
For the moment, there isn't a recall for this failure on these models. NHTSA is just investigating them to "assess the scope, frequency and safety consequences of the alleged defect," and the agency says an estimated 938,000 vehicles could potentially be affected.
