Hate to do this , but I'm gonna sell my Pontiac . Had no intentions to sell my pride and joy , but i have recently come across an opportunity that would best serve myself and my family , and the money from this sale will do exactly that . Here we have the perfect example of a True all American Muscle car . Rare 1964 2 door post Pontiac Tempest Custom , up until about a month ago it had the original 4spd muncie in the car , but i removed it to put an automatic transmission so that my wife could enjoy the car as well . Hold on don't panic ! I still have the original numbers matching muncie 4spd to go with the car . Engine in the car is believed to be the original 326 numbers matching as well . Original bench seat car too , special ordered paint . This is a rare find , car does have issues as any 50 year old car should have . Does have body filler under the red primer , does have rust . Floor pans and trunk pans will all need repairing , very much repairable in my opinion . It does run and does drive , but not yet street worthy . Still needs blinkers , brake lights , etc worked on , carburetor cleaning and adjusting , runs rough like it needs a tune up . Car does have a nice cam , nice cam sound , not sure of the cam size but sounds nice , hooker headers , 4 barrell carb , new BeCool radiator . New ball joints and bushings in front suspension , . Too much to list , . I also pulled the vin with PHS and it comes back to being an original 326/ 4spd car , I have all the documents to prove . For the more serious bidder I can fax the docs over . I'm gonna take a huge loss on this car as it is , and im not gonna give it away any cheaper then my reserve . Non-refundable deposit of $500 due within 24hrs , and balance due within 3 days after auction ending . Balance to be paid in cash in person or certified check , funds must first clear before releasing the car " No Exceptions " . Buyer is responsible for paying and arranging shipping from zip code 78389 .

GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am

Wed, 15 May 2013

When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
