This snazzy cayenne red mica painted Saab was donated to our small non-profit organization by its previous owner, for our use.   It was not smoked in while in our possession, but I do not have smoking information from prior owners.  I was able to find good service records at a dealership in Hagerstown, MD, where it was originally purchased.  It had 114,000 miles on it when we got it, and we used it lightly (and with great pleasure!) until it needed some work on its Turbocharger.   We parked it (at 117,951 miles) to do some fundraising for the Turbocharger repairs.  In the meantime its key was destroyed in a small kitchen fire at the Center.  SO WE DO NOT HAVE A KEY FOR THIS CAR!!!    I have been told that without the key or the fob the car would need a new ignition "TWICE" module, married to a new key at a dealership, a complex but not impossible repair.  So this is a repairable near-luxury car, or great parts car, which has now been sitting for 4 years.   Among the Owner's Manual and other paperwork in the glove box (it's a refrigerated glove box... so, now that you know that, you REALLY MUST make a bid!!!) I found the original window sticker, with all the loaded features and extras listed.  A picture of it is at the end of the batch of pictures.

You will need to bring a tilt-deck tow-truck to pick up this car in Knoxville, MD   21758   (across the river and very near to Harper's Ferry, WV.)

Deposit is through PayPal.  Payment must be received within 2 days of the end of the auction.  Title will be provided at pick-up, and upon completed payment.  Arrangements for pick-up and title exchange will be made post-sale, to be mutually agreeable, mutually convenient, and within a reasonable time.

Please feel free contact me to ask questions.  Questions and information from other eBayers are attached to this listing, with opinions and information about the lost key issue.  THANK YOU for looking!

NEVS completes Saab purchase, earns right to brand name but not griffin badge

Mon, 03 Sep 2012

According to the Associated Press, a Hong Kong-based concern is close to building new Saab models. After some delays, National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) has completed the purchase of bankrupt Swedish automaker Saab.
NEVS says it plans to debut an electric vehicle in about 18 months. When the car comes to market, it will wear the Saab name, but not the marque's well-known griffin logo. Reuters reports that the company will produce EVs based on the Saab 9-3 platform, with intentions to sell these vehicles primarily in the Chinese market. Due to the continued use of the distinctive griffin head logo by commercial truckmaker Scania and the Saab aerospace group, NEVS was only granted access to the Saab name, not its emblem.

NEVS' reorganization plan approved after all?

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

What a difference a day makes. Thursday, we reported that current Saab parent National Electric Vehicle Sweden had its application for creditor protection denied by the Swedish court for being "vague and completely undocumented." But NEVS was back in court on Friday, and this time the application was granted. However, the story continued to get weirder as defense contractor Saab AB allegedly revoked NEVS' rights to use the Saab name.
NEVS did put out a brief press release confirming the court decision saying: "The District court of Vänersborg, Sweden, today August 29 approved the application for reorganization from National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB." The company allegedly has over 90 creditors, and according to Reuters, it owes them roughly 400 million Swedish krona ($57.56 million). The business says that it is in negotiations with two, unnamed companies to get additional funding.
Also, according to Reuters, Saab AB, best known for making fighter planes, has revoked NEVS' rights to the Saab brand name because the company's application for creditor protection gave the defense contractor that right. When NEVS bought Saab, it only acquired the automaker's physical assets, and had to negotiate for the rights to use the name.

Hot rod tractor stars in Swedish version of Farmkhana

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Nordic countries are known for their beautiful fjords, blonde-haired populace and bitter cold for a good portion of the year. The hours spent indoors during the dark, cold season apparently gives a lot of time for some crazy brainstorming. Tire store chain Vianor is highlighting the Traktor Terror in a new video. If Ken Block is the master of Gymkhana, then these guys know all about Farmkhana in their custom, turbocharged tractor.
According to the YouTube description from Vianor, the tractor is a 1956 Volvo BM Terrier with an added roll cage, adjustable front suspension and extended frame. The engine is thoroughly Swedish, and it's based on a Volvo 940 Turbo with a Volvo 240 head and Volvo 740 intercooler. However, it uses a Saab turbo Prospark ignition and fuel system. All told, the setup is claimed to make 225 horsepower and is capable of a top speed of 60 miles per hour.
That's not crazy power, but this tractor can certainly put it down. The farm machine has no problem smoking those big rear wheels and drifts easily.... although, it may be a tiny little bit unstable (hence the roll cage). If nothing else, this looks like the world's most fun way to be a farmer, that's for sure.
