I was asked if I wanted to replace a 3-month old air filter (for a nominal charge) and told that my steering fluid was critically low and needed replacing (for a nominal charge). After declining their offers, I had my steering fluid checked by a trusted mechanic. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my steering fluid.
