This gold super charged Previa Alltrac has a lot of options including, 7 passenger seating, swivel center bucket seats, leather interior, privacy glass, Ice cold front and rear a/c, power mirrors, power windows and locks, quad seating, towing package, anti lock brakes, cruise control, am/fm cd/cassette, and the all wheel drive works great. The tires have 9/32 tread remaining. The transmission was rebuilt with performance parts at 189,000 miles ( $1940.00 ). The body has some dents, scratches and the rear hatch is cracked. The only other area that has rust starting to show is the left rear wheel lip as seen in the pictures. Other than that the van is solid and was originally from Virginia. This van runs and drives great and is very reliable. There are a lot of new parts that were put into it in the last few years that we've owned it including a new exhaust system and the cat. converter ( receipts are in the glove box ). The interior has some wear as seen in the pictures. The front upper strut mounts have been rattling over bumpy roads since we've owned it as well (it drives and handles well) Other than that it needs a valve cover gasket. It's a fantastic van with a lot of years and miles left. It's the third Previa Alltrac that we have owned and with the super charged engine, its also the best. The only reason that were selling it is because our kids are grown and we don't need it. When we drove it last week the brake pedal was low for the first few stops, it has worked fine the rest of the day but will probably need a master cylinder soon. Toyota discontinuing FJ Cruiser after 2014 model year
Tue, 20 Aug 2013The Toyota FJ Cruiser is not long for this world. According to the manufacturer's own fleet website, the rugged FJ will be discontinued after the 2014 model year, with the companies final orders due in June of next year.
Toyota first launched the FJ Cruiser in 2006 as a 2007 model, and aside from minor year-over-year changes, it has not been substantially updated. The FJ is the modern successor to the original FJ40 Land Cruiser that Toyota produced from the 1960s all the way up through 1984, when the automaker decided to better focus on its larger, four-door Land Cruiser line. Currently, it uses a 4.0-liter V6 engine with either rear- or four-wheel drive, and is available with either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. Interestingly, word of the FJ's demise comes not long after Toyota's US boss, Bill Fay, reaffirmed his company's commitment to body-on-frame trucks in late July.
Also of interest, Toyota's fleet website states that the 2014 model year Prius range will have "minor updates," though it's unclear what those are as of this writing. When Autoblog reached out to confirm these developments with Toyota, spokesman Curt McCallister reminded us, "As is our corporate policy, we don't discuss future products beyond the present or upcoming model year."
Toyota recalls 4,000 Tacoma pickups over valve springs
Thu, 07 Nov 2013When you build as many cars and trucks as Toyota does, you're bound to run into the occasional recall. In the past month alone, the Japanese auto giant has recalled over 800,000 Camry, Avalon and Venza models over problems with the air-conditioning units, and 10,000 more before that over windshield wiper issues. Now Toyota has issued another recall notice, but this time for far fewer vehicles.
The recall revolves around the engine valve springs in the 2013 and 2014 Tacoma, specifically those fitted with the standard 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine and not the optional 4.0-liter V6. The issue is that the valve springs are prone to cracking and breaking over time, and results from improper maintenance of the manufacturing equipment used by one of the two suppliers that outfit Toyota with the components in question.
All told, some 4,000 vehicles will be subject to the voluntary recall, the owners of which will receive notice by mail. If you think that could be you and want to get a jump on the problem, you can read the announcement below and call Toyota yourself.
2014 Toyota Corolla shows just enough to keep us interested
Tue, 21 May 2013To date, the best idea we have of what the 2014 Toyota Corolla will look like is the shape and styling of the Furia Concept from this year's Detroit Auto Show. Obviously the compact car will turn down the wick a fair bit from that orange machine, and now we have one more scintilla of an idea of what the final product will look like.
Published today on Toyota's official Facebook page, the image above clearly shows the rear quarter of the 2014 Corolla S. Though the low angle is pretty wonky, we can make out that the shape of the taillight cluster is very similar to that of the Furia, albeit without the same LED treatment, A hint of a trunk-lid spoiler is also in evidence, and also follows the Furia's lead.
Toyota points out that the new Corolla will be shown in earnest on June 6. Expect to see the full version of the car by that date at the latest - online leaks have a tendancy to speed these things up.
