2004 Vw Phaeton V8 on 2040-cars
Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, United States
Available is my Phaeton that I have owned for the past 5 years, and now has ~140,000 miles. Mileage may increase with occasional use.
If your looking for a Phaeton, you are probably aware, the vehicle come very loaded with options.
After removing from this past winter storage (late May,2014), I have replaced the driver side battery, (mid June 2014) replaced front rotors, ceramic pads, caliper pins, and both front wheel bearings. Included will be a new set of rear rotors, new in box.
Also after storage, a pulley noise has developed and will need to be addressed.
In the past 2 years Front control arms (8) and outer tie rods have been replaced.and also the K frame bushings.
Attached are a few pictures, there is normal paint/chip wear on the front bumper cover, and hood leading edge...
Cosmetic defects I tried to photograph appropriately.
The transmission has, since I have owned, has a slight 1-2 flair, at 60k (my purchase) a fluid/filter change showed no abnormal debris in the pan or pan magnets. Another fluid/filter change at 80k resulted the same.
TPMS is disabled, Sensors will need to be replaced for proper functionality.
Daytime running lights are turned off to save the zeons,
Oil changes always with mobil1.
Any question please ask.
Bid only if you are serious, deposit's will not be refundable.Cash only at time of pickup.
Thanks for looking.

Volkswagen shows off performance-ish Passat concept
Mon, 14 Jan 2013As part of its 2013 Detroit Auto Show debut package, Volkswagen has rolled out a sportier version of the Passat sedan, though it's strictly conceptual for now. A small dose of go-fast visuals have been added to the handsome Volkswagen, including 19-inch wheels, carbon-capped mirrors, an advanced front lighting system, LED taillamps and dual exhaust. Some carbon bits and upgraded leather are found inside the cabin, as well.
But the real performance chops come in the form of a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that sends 250 horsepower to the Passat's front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. That's a good boost in power over the 170 hp of the base 2.5-liter inline-five, but not quite as potent as the 3.6-liter VR6. A lowered sport suspension and revised electronic steering are also on hand, making things slightly more involving out on the road... we assume.
It's not quite the performance concept we were hoping for, but a more enthusiastic Passat isn't necessarily a bad thing. Scroll down for the press release.
Help a couple drive their 1984 Vanagon around the world
Mon, 22 Apr 2013Meet Brad, Sheena and Nacho
Driving through China is a pricey proposition. The couple will need to pony up a staggering $19,514 just to cover the fees.
Brad and Sheena Van Orden are in the midst of a life-defining campaign to travel around the world, and they're doing it in a 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon custom built for the occasion. The past 15 months have seen the couple quit their jobs with Gore-Tex and drive from Arizona to the very southern tip of Argentina after spending a full two years saving and preparing for the trek. Now they're in southern Asia gearing up for the next leg of their journey.
VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.
