Keswick, Ontario, Canada

I am the original owner of the car, purchased new from a Volvo dealership in Toronto. All maintenance has been done by myself and/or the same Volvo master mechanic for the last 32yrs.
The car is an award winner both here in Canada and South of the Border and recently was the highest scoring car in its category at a recent ACCCC Concourse D'Elegence, scoring 97.3%. This is a show car that is winter stored and driven for pleasure only and showcased at a number of car shows every year. It has also been featured in Volvo magazines, the Toronto Star newspaper and Toronto Sun newspaper.
The car is in sound mechanical condition without any issues whatsoever. All mechanics, brakes, engine, transmission, clutch, drive train, electrics are performing like new and repairs were made as needed over the years. All fluids have been changed regularly and the car can simply be driven for many years more without any immediate or additional repairs required.
70% of the paint, entire interior, engine and electrics are all original, hence the award winning status it receives every year. This is a car that has not been modified, altered or otherwise. It is as it was when coming off the assembly line for the first time.
Unlike the images provided, the car now has "Historical Plates" and enjoys the many discounts for licensing, a historical car is entitled to.
The car sale includes a vast number of NOS (new old stock) parts, too many to mention and some of which are very rare. Included in the sale are all the Volvo Shop Manuals, documentation, original sales receipt, awards, and much more.
The Volvo is suitable for someone who wants to continue the legacy of this car, enjoy its award winning status and hopefully love and care for it as I have done for the last 32yrs.

First production Volvo P1800 stolen

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Want further proof that car thieves are the scum of the Earth? Some crooks in Sweden made off with a prized Volvo - the very first production P1800. The P1800, a two-door coupe, is a classic that's been growing in popularity over the years, thanks in no small part to its gorgeous sheetmetal.
This particular example, wearing chassis number two, wears red paint with a white interior. It was swiped from a locked storage facility in Stockholm, according to Hemmings, between August 21 and 22. The P1800 was owned by Mats Eriksson, vice president of the Swedish P1800 Club, who had given it a thorough restoration. Features to look out for on this particular car include the unique wheel covers shown in the gallery, and two different registration plates - C28000 and ACZ 780.
Larmtjänst AB, a non-profit that fights vehicle crimes in Sweden, is accepting any and all information pertaining from the theft. If you, or anyone you know, was in Stockholm on the night of the days of the theft or has seen a red P1800 in the Scandinavian region, head over to the Larmtjänst AB website to submit a tip.

Volvo pranks newest valet on the Italian Riviera

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

Being a valet on the Italian Riviera seems like a pretty sweet gig for a young guy. Not only do you get to watch beautiful people coming and going all day and night, but there's the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a plethora of exotic sports cars. Of course, being responsible for those expensive vehicles has to be pretty nerve wracking to get used to on the first day.
In a new commercial, Volvo pranks a new valet at the San Remo Casino to see how he would handle a surprise showing up on the red carpet. If the look on his face in the screenshot above doesn't show it, he's pretty shocked by what he sees. We don't want to spoil the reveal, so just watch the ad to find out. Afterward, if you're interested in the details behind how Volvo made it happen, you can check out a short, making-of documentary, here.

Volvo V60 Polestar speeds into view

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

Send us photos of a new wagon out testing, and you've got our attention. Send us photos of a fast wagon lapping the Nürburgring and, well, we're just as giddy as can be. Our spy shooters just blessed our inbox with some fresh shots of Volvo's new V60 wagon out testing in Polestar guise, sporting the same Rebel Blue paint job as the thunder-from-Down-Under limited-edition S60 Polestar, as well as an aggressive front fascia, huge wheels, Brembo brakes, a rear diffuser panel and a roof spoiler. Hello there, hot stuff.
Like its sedan counterpart, the V60 Polestar is expected to use a boosted version of Volvo's 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, pumping out something like 350 horsepower. To keep everything in check, that force will almost certainly be sent to the ground via all-wheel drive.
It's unclear if Volvo will sell the V60 Polestar as a limited-edition affair for our friends in Australia, or if this longroof hot-hauler will be offered in other markets this time. After all, Volvo is bringing the V60 over to American soil early next year, so consider our fingers - and toes - crossed.
