I just bought this car after having had another V 70 wagon - that one got in an accident- and was planning on using it to go to school and my work. I just found out that I got laid off from work. I need to pay my tuition for college so, the car has to go and I have to take the bus for now.No help from the parents.I can't do gas, insurance and tuition by myself.

I replaced the A/C compressor, the spark plugs and wires, the battery, the cables to the battery, the alternator, and a good part of the muffler.

The exterior is in decent shape for a 14 year old car, the paint is not flaking. The leather interior is worn but the seats themselves are good- the cushioning is still good and the seats are comfortable. The steering wheel need to be recovered, the stereo window, venting system a/c all work as they should. Brakes and tires are good. The passenger door locks but you can't open the door from the inside. All the other doors work as they should. The car has the control fob that works and two other spare keys.
No major oil or radiator leaking problems. No tapping sounds, no blue smoke.

In essence it is a car that runs and it is a safe car. It is currently registered in CA and just passed CA smog without a problem. So buy it , drive it, use it for parts, do what you like.

But please don't bid on it if you think you are getting a gem

It is not.

It is a 14 year old Volvo.

I have tried to be as honest as I can and I have priced this car fairly according to its condition.

DONT BID IF YOU EXPECTING A PERFECT VEHICLE-IT IS FAR FROM PERFECT!! PLEASE HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO LOOK ELSEWHERE!!

I will not guarantee its continued reliability or function once you have purchased this vehicle.

Paypal only You buy it you arrange to pick it up and transport it.

Good Luck

Forgot to add : the car is being advertised and shown locally, so I reserve the right to cancel this auction if the car gets sold locally.

Volvo S60 Polestar Concept finally spotted in the flesh

Wed, 28 Nov 2012

The Volvo S60 Polestar Concept has graced the pages of Autoblog numerous times in recent memory, but we've never actually seen it in person. That is, until now.
We caught up with the blazing blue sedan sitting on the floor of the LA Auto Show, and it looks even better up close. As a refresher, the four-door is fitted with a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine (3.0-liter) generating an impressive 508 horsepower. Its close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox sends power to all four wheels through a fourth-generation Haldex XWD system. With a decent driver behind the steering wheel, the Polestar can crack the 60 mph benchmark in about 3.7 seconds as it rushes towards a top speed in excess of 186 mph.
Volvo has said that this Polestar-modified S60 was built for a specific client who paid upwards of $300,000 for the pleasure of owning it. But as they say, if there is market demand for more...

Ford, Volvo top 2014 EyesOn Design awards

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

Each year at the Detroit Auto Show, the top vehicle designs are recognized with the prestigious EyesOn Design award for production and concept vehicles. This year, the 32 EyesOn Design judges (comprised of current and former vehicle designers including Chrysler designer and SRT president Ralph Gilles, Kia designer Peter Schreyer and retired General Motors designer Wayne Cherry) handed out three awards for the Best Concept Vehicle, Best Production Vehicle and Innovative Use of Color, Graphics, and Materials.
Beating out the Mercedes C-Class and Ford F-150, the 2015 Ford Mustang was named the Best Production Vehicle as the top auto show debut at this year's Detroit show. The 2014 Volvo Concept XC Coupe took home awards as the Best Concept Vehicle and for its Innovative Use of Color, Graphics and Materials.
Considering the Volvo's primer grey hue and subtle orange accents, it was a rather surprising winner for Innovative Use of Color, Graphics, and Materials over flashier concepts like the Toyota FT-1 and our Editors' Choice top pick, the Kia GT4 Stinger. Other vehicles in the running for the concept car award include the GT4 Stinger and Audi Allroad Shooting Brake

Volvo unveils all-new user interface destined for next-gen XC90 [w/video]

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Take a close look at the cabin of the Volvo Concept Estate shown above. One of the big features on the fancy, brown shooting brake is an all-new user interface called, well, it doesn't really have a name, at least not one Volvo is revealing.
The refreshingly nameless system looks seriously impressive based on the short video that accompany's the system's press release. The jewel of the whole interface is a sizable touchscreen that manages most every in-car function save for a few vital functions like volume, hazard lights and other systems that still demand a more tactile interface.
"The basic idea is to organize controls and information in a perfectly intuitive and user- friendly way. Everything is exactly where you expect it to be, making the drive more enjoyable, efficient, and safe," Thomas Ingenlath, Volvo's Senior Vice President of Design, said in a statement.
