This is a 2007 BMW M6 with 507 horsepower if only stock. Additionally this car has a $4,000 Dinan black exhaust
(no ugly chrome tips sticking out the back) and $2,000 Dinan intake for additional horsepower. Car sounds like a
Formula 1 race car when you accelerate. Not too loud at idle after warm up, just a noticeable rumble over stock.
The wheels are the original 20" M6 wheels that I had powder coated gloss black. They look perfect. Low profile
tires have 75-80% tread. All windows tinted, emblems black as well as the grill. Interior is in great condition and
would challenge a car this year to be in nicer condition. The dash is wood (it's a BMW) not fake. The roof is
carbon fiber. In addition, this M6 comes with the "heads up display" option (GPS, RPM, speedometer, etc. projected
onto the windshield - see photo). Other options are:
Navigation system
Adaptive Xenon headlights
Push button start
Front and rear parking sensors
Leather wrapped steering wheel
Steering wheel controls
Climate control
AM/FM/CD
Heated seats
Auto dimming mirrors
etc.
This is an SMG transmission car (manual or automatic) with paddle shifters on the steering wheel, you can also
shift with the shifter which is what I am use to.
Everything else the photos can speak for (the black round spots/shadows that are in all the photos are on the
camera, as you can tell that they are in the same place in each picture). There are no check engine lights or codes
but the ABS light is on. It has been on about a year and since it passes inspection I left it be. The passenger
mirror housing cracked (I bumped it driving past an orange construction cone) but the glass is fine and it all
still works as it should (including the ground illumination upon entry) you can see this in the first and second
photo.

VW Golf R pitted against BMW M235i in enthusiast's choice battle

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

Most people don't have two, open spots in their garage to fit a practical daily driver and a fire-breathing performance car for the weekends. That's what makes vehicles like the latest Volkswagen Golf R and BMW M235i just about perfect for the average person. Both of these Germans can lope around as a commuter 90 percent of the time and be perfectly comfortable. However, when you want to walk in the door with a big smile on your face, you can take the back roads home and get a real thrill from them.
In his latest short video, Chris Harris from Drive tests these surprisingly comparable German performance cars. Both of them offer buyers in the neighborhood of 300 horsepower, with the BMW winning out with 320 hp. However, the Golf R gets standard all-wheel drive, which is now an option on the M235i. Harris has quite positive things to say about these Europeans, but you're going to have to watch the video to hear just what he thinks.

BMW raises pricing on many models

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

Buyers interested in a new BMW will start paying a bit more for their Ultimate Driving Machines, beginning yesterday. The Munich, Germany-based manufacturer has announced price hikes across nearly its entire range, covering model years 2013 and 2014, that will sting higher-end customers in particular.
Price increases are enough to get any consumer riled up, but the incremental nature of BMW's increase makes it a bit easier to swallow. All 1 Series and remaining 3 Series Convertibles (including the M3 Convertible) will see a $300 increase in price. All current-generation F30 3 Series, 5 Series GT and X3 crossovers will get their price bumped by $200. $500 increases are coming for the 6 Series range (not including the M6), while the diminutive X1 gets just a $100 increase.
Cars on the losing end of the price hikes include the newest M cars, the M5 and M6 Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe, which are being bumped $2,000. BMW is adding $1,000 to the sticker of all Z4s and the entire X6 range, including the X6M.

Husqvarna sold to KTM CEO Stefan Pierer

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

A couple of days ago the UK's Motorcycle News reported that BMW was in the final stages of selling Husqvarna to KTM, with a deal potentially confirmed as soon as this week. Following that came reports that Husqvarna Motorcycles wasn't sold to KTM but to a Pierer Industries, the company owned by KTM CEO Stefan Pierer. Turns out the advance report was true, as was the follow-up: BMW has just announced a "strategic realignment" of its Motorrad division, explaining that it sold Husqvarna to Pierer Industries in order to focus on the urban and e-mobility segments. Husqvarna's off-road machines, obviously, don't fit into those categories.
BMW bought the Italian-based bike maker with centuries-old Swedish roots in 2007 - the rest of the Husqvarna company remains based in Sweden - and has invested huge sums to integrate the smaller company into the larger parent. Six years later, just when dividends should begin to truly pay off, the brand is sold.
Before BMW made its announcement, one of the theories that forum members put forward for Pierer's interest in purchasing Husqvarna was that he wants his own business to run his own way. The parent company of KTM, Cross Industries, is 47.27-percent owned by India's Bajaj Automotive, with Pierer the majority shareholder, and is on a quest for global growth, taking the fight to BMW in Europe and launching new bikes and technology into the Indian market. Compared to BMW's and KTM's 2012 sales of around 100,000 bikes each in 2012, Husqvarna sold 10,751 bikes, which was a 15.7-percent increase over the previous year. Pierer would have a lot more freedom in the running of a company of that size.
