Cadillac DeVille Convertible

Original #10 Sable Black    ***     51,336 Original Miles     ***     Factory Triple Black

"A stunning example of open air Cadillac style in Elegant Sable Black!"

OFFERED FOR SALE is what I believe to be the nicest original DeVille Convertible I have seen in some time.  Sold new on March 2, 1966 at CENTRAL CADILLAC Co. in Cleveland, OH, this factory original #10 Sable Black car with original black interior and top that has just 51,336 original miles and has been meticulously maintained since new.  This DeVille Convertible has had the good fortune of being well cared for since it was new and it's condition speaks volumes.

With the exception of a single re-paint, it is unrestored and has the appearance of a car that might be just a few years old.  The interior, dash pad, door panels, instrumentation, bezels, lenses are all in excellent condition.  The exterior bumpers, bezels, lenses, rubber trims, side moldings, grille are all excellent as well.  The body is arrow straight (and a black car tells all) and the paint presents so well that it has the look and patina of amazingly well cared for original.

Features on this DeVille are Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Seats, AM-FM with power antenna, Power Windows, and Tilt-Telescopic Wheel.  Being what I imagine was Nick L.'s "summer love" and a convertible, he probably figured the top would be down when he was driving it so the car wasn't equipped with A/C....However, I always felt the addition of factory A/C would be the greatest gift an owner could afford upon such a outstanding car so I purchased a parts car that was factory A/C equipped so that it could be retrofitted,  and that car is included with the sale.  It has the engine (which runs on a remote fuel bottle) still in place and has all the hardware, mounting brackets, heater/evaporator box, water pump housing, as well as a nice lower dash panel with the eyeball vents.  I would expect that the cost for a professional installation including new correct components might run $4000-$5000 with labor but it would be worth 2x the expense to a car of this caliber.

Included in the sale are the original Protect-o-Plate, Owner's Manuals, and original blue vinyl holder.

You will not find a nicer correct triple Black 1966 Cadillac Convertible on the market today......It will not last!

"Nothing evokes the style and elegance of the 1960's more than a Sable Black Cadillac convertible".......What a well preserved example for your collection....What a great way to enjoy a bygone era.

Thank you!

Cadillac considering more engines, Vsport model for Escalade

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Want to roll in the latest Cadillac Escalade? You can get it with a 6.2-liter V8... or a 6.2-liter V8. Cadillac only offers the one engine option. But that may soon change.
According to the latest from Automotive News, Cadillac is contemplating a couple of new powertrain options for its blingin' big ute. The report suggests a twin-turbo V6 and a V6 turbodiesel could be offered, and that Cadillac could create a Vsport version of the Escalade like it offers on the new CTS sedan.
The more diverse engine offerings would help attract buyers from the new Lincoln Navigator, its prime competitor, which switched from a 5.4-liter V8 this year to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. The turbo V6 engines (both gasoline and diesel) would also help Cadillac market the Escalade overseas - particularly in Europe, where higher fuel prices preclude the prospect of driving a big V8 SUV for many buyers. Escalade sales have dropped from 35-40k units in the mid-2000s to around 12,000 the past couple of years.

Cadillac sales chief Peffer resigns amidst slow sales

Fri, 20 Jun 2014

Cadillac continues to hemorrhage executives, as it's just seen its fourth high-level departure in the past year. Vice President of Global Strategic Development Don Butler (who defected to Ford) and European President and Managing Director Susan Docherty both left the company of their own volition, while Chase Hawkins, Cadillac's vice president of sales and service, was fired following a "violation of policy" in July of 2013. Strangely, it's Hawkins' replacement, Bill Peffer (shown above), who has handed in his papers this time around.
"Bill left to pursue other interests. Kurt McNeil replaces him, effective immediately," spokesman David Caldwell told Autoblog via email.
McNeil last held the VP of sales and service position back in 2012. He's currently the vice president of US sales for all of General Motors. According to The Detroit News, McNeil will take on the post in what is likely an interim capacity.

2013 Cadillac ATS Premium 2.0T 6MT

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

The new Cadillac ATS is an impressive sport sedan, often considered one of the most serious threats to the BMW 3 Series. Unlike GM's previous attempts, this four door brings aggressive styling, commendable chassis dynamics and class-leading handling to the highly competitive battle. And, like its daunting German foe, Cadillac offer several powertrain choices.
I recently spent time with the ATS 2.0T Premium on my home California turf. Fitted with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with a limited-slip rear differential, my tester was lightly optioned, with only a paint upgrade and a cold weather package. That brought the as-tested price to $46,305, configured the way I imagine most enthusiasts would prefer. This meant I fully expected to enjoy a week with a tossable sport sedan that boasted "fun-to-drive" as its middle name, but all was not well...
