Update: sat 1-26-13. Just installed a new battery, alternator, battery clamps, and belt. Up for sale is a nice 1996 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer eddition. I bought it last year as a spare plow truck but didn't use it and I have less jobs now so I don't need to keep a spare truck on the road. Plows great! Has great weight transfer for traction and turns circles around my Ram 2500 because of it's short wheelbase. I used it twice last season on my own driveway just to see how it plowed & keep it in good running order. Not too much Bronco rust. Good shape overall. The plow was added a few years ago by the previous owner for his own driveway. Never used commercially. Has the 5.0L 302 V-8 engine with automatic transmission. Has a lever style transfercase for the four wheel drive system. No problematic dash 4x4 button like some other Fords. Has 154k miles. Tinted windows. Power everything. Cruise control. Pioneer C/D player. Great almost new all terrain tires. Air bags in the front suspension coils to hold the extra weight of the plow and not have the truck doing a nose dive. Has a new coil, ignition module, distributor pick up,radius arm bushings and mounts, and recent NYS inspection. Alot of other new parts added by the previous owner. The plow is great and is a Snow Way 4 way plow. Works great and has a joystick controller. Very easy to use. The truck runs great and drives great as is but needs one thing. The power tailgate window just stopped working on me the other day. It is stuck in the up position luckily! I don't know if it's the motor or saftey switch but motors sell here on ebay new for $60 shipped. I haven't had a chance to get in there and check it out yet but will try soon. Consider it broken for now. Just that one issue otherwise the truck is great and just passed inspection. Call Jim for more info @ (914) 310-6494. Located in Wurtsboro NY 12790. Currently on the road so I can follow you home once paid to deliver it if your local. NO RESERVE!!! TOP BIDDER WINS!!!

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Holy crime-fighting Ford F-150, Batman!
Thu, 18 Jul 2013What would Batman drive for his weekly trips to Home Depot for the bits and pieces needed to keep his lair deep below Wayne Manor in tip-top condition? Certainly not the Batmobile - there's no way a 4x8 sheet of plywood will fit between the wheel wells, not to mention the fact that jet turbine engines have an unfortunate tendency to set trailers on fire when towing...
No, what Batman needs is a pickup truck. The boys from Ford teamed up with Galpin Auto Sports to build just such a machine, and it has just debuted at Comic Con. Designed by Jared Barris, grandson of the legendary kustomizer George Barris, the 2012 F-150 pickup you see here, dubbed Crime Fighter, is painted Tuxedo Black with Ferrari Red highlights and is affixed with fins on each side of the truck bed. It's nothing if not unique.
Well, it's at least unique for now. According to Ford, Galpin in Southern California is willing to take orders for customers looking to don a cape and hit the town for a night of crime-fighting action. Or trips to Home Depot. Check out our high-res image gallery and then scroll down for the official description from Ford. We're waiting for details such as pricing and build time from Ford, and we'll update this post if and when we hear back.
Ford sued over alleged 3.5-liter EcoBoost defects
Thu, 16 May 2013Three Ford owners from Ohio have filed a lawsuit against the automaker over defects that they allege exist within the company's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. Automotive News reports that the lawsuit claims the engine "contained serious latent design, manufacturing, or assembly defects." Those defects, the suit claims, cause the vehicle to shake, misfire and lose power quickly.
Two of the plaintiffs, a married couple, own a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, and allege they experienced a loss of power and stalling, while the third, an F-150 owner, claims he lost power while accelerating. In addition to the Taurus SHO and F-150, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine is also available in the Ford Flex, Explorer Sport and Lincoln MKT and MKS. Other three- and four-cylinder EcoBoost engines are not included in the suit. There have been no recalls associated with 3.5-liter V6 engine, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently not investigating the matter.
The plaintiffs, however, claim Ford has known about the problem, citing several technical service bulletins issued to dealers of the F-150 that suggest possible fixes. Ford had no comment for Automotive News, saying that it's yet to review the lawsuit, which was filed last Friday in Columbus, OH.
