This 1956 Ford F100 pick up was a fully restored show truck in the late 1990s. The shop in South Carolina that restored it started with a very nice rust-free example. The level of finish and detail are still exceptional but now years later it’s showing a few blemishes indicative of an older restoration. The motor is a Ford 351W mated to a 3 speed automatic transmission that offers “plenty” of power. We believe the front frame and suspension are from a Mercury Monterey and we can see that the integration was beautifully done. The Ford 9? diff. has adjustable rear air shocks. The dual exhaust system has a wonderful deep sound and the truck has power assisted disc brakes on all four wheels. The interior sports a tilt steering wheel, custom grey tweed seats and panels with clear plastic seat covers, and an AM/FM/CD player hidden in glove box. There are 4 brand new tires on the custom 16? chrome wheels and all the fluids have been recently checked. The Dolphin gauges were new when it was restored so we know that there are only 11,289 miles on the truck since then. This is a turn-key, ready to drive hot rod truck that has more then ample power, steers easily and stops exceptionally well. One of the best around and fairly priced at $23,000. Feel free to call me for additional pictures, info, or to schedule an inspection. Clarke 603-587-0577. |

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible makes inappropriate appearance in Detroit [w/video]
Tue, 14 Jan 2014With the polar vortex fresh in the minds of Autoblog's Detroit-based staff, we're finding it funny that any manufacturer would choose January in the Motor City to show off a new and highly anticipated convertible to the general media and public for the first time. But Ford has done just that, giving us our first real peek at the new Mustang Convertible in the flesh.
The new Mustang Convertible is more or less unchanged from the standard coupe, with some subtle styling tweaks to accommodate the retractable soft top. Engine and transmission choices are identical to the hardtop, although we should expect slightly lower performance due to the hardware for the roof. Like the coupe, neither prices nor performance metrics have been published yet for the convertible.

Ford increasing Super Duty production by 15 percent
Fri, 31 Jan 2014Ford has announced a hefty $80 million investment in its Kentucky Truck Plant, which is responsible for building the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 versions of the Super Duty pickup. The influx of cash will add 350 jobs to the factory.
The investment is also good for a 15-percent increase in annual production thanks to retooling and other facility upgrades, which equates to an extra 55,000 units of production. Considering that Ford makes even more money off its Super Duty than it does on the hot-selling F-150, this could mean some serious coin to Ford's bottom line.
Hop below for the full press release from Ford on its latest investment.
How Ford made its 2015 Ford Mustang safer for toupee wearers [w/video]
Fri, 28 Feb 2014Ford is ready to tell the story of its 2015 Mustang Convertible, the can't-miss bits being the easier, quicker and quieter roof operation, a more robust roof build for a coupe-like cabin noise, more trunk space, better visibility and reduced in-cabin buffeting. The top release system has been completely redesigned with a single, center-mounted latch on the windshield frame instead of the dual latches of before. The driver can now release the roof without having to lean over into the passenger space, after which the top goes down fully automatically with the press of a button. Ford doesn't say how long it takes to stow, but it's apparently done in half as much time as before, so figure around 8 seconds.
The roof uses a five-bow structure, with the fabric outer and full inner headliner sandwiching ten millimeters of insulation. Detailing work on the top has eliminated "unsightly folds" in the corners when the roof is up and made it more compact when down; its Z-fold assembly is 6.7 inches lower than before at its highest point when put down. Ford says the new electric drive internals make less noise when in operation, and the fully-finished droptop look is achieved with snap-in caps that flank the rear seating and stow in the trunk when not in use (the outgoing Mustang's top was higher and the front when folded and always looked like it was catching air and creating drag).
The compact roof and newly independent rear suspension setup in back means liberated trunk space, 11.4 cubic feet ready to swallow golf bags and tourist swag. You can read a lot more about it in the press release below, check it out in the short video of running footage and learn about the aerodynamic improvements made to the entire Mustang lineup that decrease drag and increase fuel economy.
