Up for bids is this 1939 ford truck. This is a very unusual not often seen truck. Most of these are gone by the way side. The few that are left are either rusted to the ground, fixed up into high dollar trucks, or have already been made into rat rods. The way this one sits you could do basically what ever you wanted to do with it. It could be restored into a show truck, rat rod, street rod, hot rod, or just a simple driver so its an open book on this one. I got the truck from another gentleman who had it sitting in his warehouse for around 20 years. He got it from another couple who had it sitting in there barn for 25-30 years previous to that so its been off the road and in storage for around 40-50 years. I guess thats why it is still here today. otherwise it would of probably been rusting away. The body is really pretty solid. It has several dents and dings but over all the main structure is solid. The frame, cab, doors, running boards, bed, hood, fenders are all pretty solid. The body is pretty complete except for the tailgate. The motor and transmission is gone. I guess it was a flat head V8 originally. It will steer and roll. The doors will need some adjusting to shut correctly. The hinges are stiff and need to be alligned some more. When I got this truck it was pretty much dissasembled. I guess this was going to be someones project along time ago and it never took place. I would love to see someone get this and make something out of it. You see alot of the run of the mill cars but not to many 30's model trucks left out there. I took pics of everything that goes with it. I have the windshield frame, some interior pieces, and a few other pieces. I have a clear title to it. If you have questions or need more info just let me know. I will require full payment within seven days of the end of auction. If you need more information and would like to talk to me give me a call at 318-278-1069.

Ford bringing C-Max Solar Energi Concept to CES

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

Solar energy might not be enough to power a usable electric vehicle on its own, but that doesn't mean it can't lend a helping hand. And that's what Ford has in store for the Consumer Electronics Show opening next week in Las Vegas.
Ford has essentially taken its C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid and fitted it with the latest in solar panel technology developed by SunPower, acting like a magnifying glass to capture as much of the sun's energy as possible. So you get the benefit of an electric vehicle, with the range assurance of a hybrid, without needing to draw from the grid.
Ford estimates that a day of charging in the sunshine will give the C-Max Solar Energi concept the same full charge as the production PHEV, with a total range of 620 miles - 21 of which can be run on electric power alone. Otherwise the vehicle - which remains a concept for the time being - is identical to the existing C-Max Energi. The top-selling model in Ford's growing hybrid and electric vehicle portfolio helps put Ford just behind Toyota among the top seller of hybrids in America. Scope out the images in the gallery above and the video clip and press release below for a closer look.

Ford Transit gets outfitted for prison duty

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

Between the Taurus-based Police Interceptor, the Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility and the F-150 and Expedition special service vehicles, Ford has no lack of offerings for law enforcement. And now it has one more in the form of the new Transit PTV.
Based on the fullsize Transit van, the Prisoner Transport Vehicle can move as many as 12 prisoners in three separate compartments between detention facilities. Created in collaboration with Pennsylvania-based Havis Prisoner Transport Solutions and with input from Ford's Police Advisory Board, the Transit PTV takes advantage of the Transit's considerable configuration options that include three roof heights, two wheelbases, three lengths and four body-styles - not to mention engine options that include the flex-fuel 3.7-liter V6, 3.5-liter EcoBoost and 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel.
"Transit PTV is the latest example of Ford's deep commitment to helping provide law enforcement agencies with capable vehicles. This concept proves Transit is upfit-ready and designed to Built Ford Tough standards," said Jonathan Honeycutt, Ford police marketing manager. "Many Police Advisory Board members have had the chance to drive this vehicle and they are excited about it. This new vehicle is tough, smart and efficient - ideal for the needs of law enforcement agencies."

Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.
