Up for auction is my beautiful 1985 CJ7 Jeep. Please get your wife's permission before bidding on this Jeep. I am re-listing due to a non paying buyer.

I bought this jeep from the original owner in 2008.  Since then it has had a frame off restoration that was completed in August 2012. Before I bought it it had sat behind a barn since 1991 yes 1991. So this jeep was only on the road for 7 years of its life up to now. The frame is original and in excellent shape with no patch work. I did have to weld 2 body mounts on it. You can eat off the frame and I do wash it. The vin is stamped on it and it does match tag. It is done in oil based gloss black Rustoleum Paint. The motor was installed by previous owner. I just made it pretty . It is a 1979 Wagoneer 360ci and it rips. It has a 4 speed tranny with granny low in 4WD. I do not use 1ST around town. It has 373 gearing. It has an aluminum Edelbrock intake with an Edelbrock carb. It has 35 inch tires with a spring over axle over lift. New headers and true cj side pipe exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Sounds very nice. As for the body it is fiberglass with no stress cracks. The rest of the body components are metal. The paint on this rig is from a 2012 GMC Truck it is Stealth Grey Metallic. Funny name because I see a blue jeep. The paint work is of excellent quality and is deep. The front seats are out of a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the rear is the original.   I do have a brand new set of soft half doors and soft uppers made by Bestop.  I have only driven 750  miles since restoration.   The oil gauge  never got hooked up I don't know why it just didn't at the time, but everything else is and works fine. So if your looking for an extremely nice jeep CJ7 that you can wash the frame on here's the one. It has front and rear custom built bumpers the front has a winch plate already. I never even took it 4 wheeling, but it works great. The leaf springs are still original. . I have a black hard top included in sale. Also included is a pair of  full steel  doors that will need to be painted. They are a different color now.  Comes with hard top hard doors and soft doors for a soft top. I do not have a soft top.

Watch this 650-hp Hennessey Jeep Grand Cherokee go from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds

Tue, 14 May 2013

Hennessey Performance Engineering has created an HPE650 package for the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT fitted with the 6.4-liter Hemi engine. When it leaves the showroom floor it has 470 horsepower and gets from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds. When it leaves Hennessey's garage floor after the upgrade it has 650 horsepower - 530 hp at the wheels, according to Hennessey - and gets to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds on its way to running the quarter-mile in 12.6 seconds.
There's more than just a Roots-type supercharger bolt-on, with ported cylinder heads and high-flow headers among the many changes made to the engine. You can watch this pre-2014 facelift silver model prove its spec sheet on the drag strip in the video below.

Chrysler recalls 350k vehicles over ignition switches

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Chrysler has announced a recall covering 349,442 vehicles due to ignition switches that can either become stuck or move without warning. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2008 model year, and were built before May 12, 2008.
The automaker has learned that ignition keys on some vehicles "may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position during engine-startup," the company said in a statement. Additionally, "an ignition key may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position and may inadvertently move through the 'ON' position to 'ACCESSORY' or 'OFF.'"
Chrysler says it is unaware of any related injuries, and notes that while reduced braking, engine or steering power is possible in such instances, the airbags are not affected. The later stands in contrast to General Motors' recent rash of high-profile recalls, and it's an important distinction that Chrysler (understandably) felt necessary to call out in bold print in its press release.

Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?
