This 1986 Renault Diesel Jeep Comanche Metric Tonn is a non running project. The truck was painted a few years ago with epoxy primer and Dupont Chroma Premier topcoat. Bed liner was applied to the bed, floor boards and rocker panels. New brakes and bearings front and rear, K&N air filter and panel bulbs. Most of the interior has been painted with a brown plastic paint. The fuel injector pump has been rebuilt. The guy who installed the pump didnt check the timing and managed to break 5 of the 8 rocker arms(198.00 apiece). The truck is a great candidate for a 6 cyl swap. Custom rear bumper, aux fuel tank and bucket seats included. Solid truck NO BODY ROT. Tailgate was a replacement due to theft.

Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay
Sat, 23 Mar 2013A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.
2014 Jeep Cherokee
Thu, 19 Sep 2013The Cherokee Is Dead. Long Live The Cherokee.
There are three sentences that, for this reviewer, define what needs to be conveyed about the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The first: it is very good.
Jeep spent 27 years building the Cherokee and its brand, from 1974 to 2001. Twelve years ago, the Cherokee nameplate rolled away into the distant hills and retirement, at least here in the NAFTA colonies, and it was replaced by a loaded word we knew as "Liberty."
Going high-tech, the 4x4 way
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Is It An Off-Road Adventure Or Just A Walk In The Park?
I remember having to get out and lock hubs and shift into neutral to engage low range.
Coming off press previews of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that involved some heavy-duty off-road rock climbing, I'm simply amazed at the capabilities that these vehicles possess. But even more impressive (or troubling depending on your perspective) is the relative ease with which you can operate these vehicles in seemingly impossible terrain.
