Up for your consideration is a great very well cared for 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII Coupe. It has 138,977 miles and the body is in great condition. The engine is in good condition except for a small oil leak from the oil filter housing which is recent. The oil has otherwise been changed every time the level neared 50%. Both of the headlight assemblies have been replaced less than 1 year ago. The rotors and pads in the front and rear have been replaced. The fuel pump has been replaced. The cars suspension has been switched to coil springs. The drivers side window motor has been replaced. And it has a new battery. The vehicle comes with satellite radio and an Alpine CD player. It also has 20 spoke chrome directional wheels and Kumho tires. The body of the car is in great shape with a few small nicks here and there which I will point out. I have tried to take pictures but some of the flaws are so small that they were hard to capture in the photos. There is a ding in the passenger side door, the rear bumper has some paint loss, the drivers side front fender has a small depression, and the drivers side rear fender has a small crease which is so small I could not get a clear photo. The pinstripe on both sides of the car is mostly gone. The interior of the car is all black. The drivers seat is not in great condition as seen in the photos, the passenger side seat is better. The rear seat is in mint condition. The inside of the drivers door also has considerable wear to the top panel.  The car has been in the owners possession for many years and has been very well cared for. The car is fantastic and could be used either as running vehicle or used for parts. The car is being sold as is. It is available for pick up in Lyndhurst NJ, which is located 5 miles west of Met Life Stadium. If shipping is required the buyer is responsible for making arrangements. Please feel free to email me with any questions or you may phone the owner directly at 201.456.2173.

Lincoln debuts MKC ads starring Matthew McConaughey

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

Lincoln is making the decisive commitment that it wants to improve its brand perception going forward. It can't be cheap to hire A-list talent like Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and director Nicolas Winding Refn, best known for Drive, for its new ad campaign for the 2015 MKC crossover, but the company is showing that it's serious about the new vehicle and its future. The first three of these five commercials are just hitting YouTube, and they begin airing on television on September 6.
The Live in Your Moment campaign is all about Lincoln trying to sell not just the MKC to customers but also explain the brand's philosophy. It's one of the oldest luxury automakers around, but hasn't exactly had a glorious history, especially recently. Based on these first ads, we can see that there's a definite focus on philosophizing rather than focusing on the crossover. At times, McConaughey seems just a mustache and a mangled beer can away from reprising his role from True Detective.
The first ad (above) is simply titled Intro and sets the mood and concept for the whole campaign. Bull has McConaughey talking to a longhorn in the middle of a road, and I Just Like It has him explaining his affinity for the brand. Lincoln's full release is available below, and you can view the other ads by flipping through the playlist in the video player above.

What will the next Presidential limo look like?

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

With recent news that the Secret Service has begun soliciting proposals for a new armored limousine, we've been wondering what the next presidential limo might look like. The current machine, nicknamed "The Beast", has a design based on a car that's no longer sold: the Cadillac DTS. If General Motors gets the job again, which wouldn't be a surprise considering the government still owns a chunk of the company, the next limo's shape would likely resemble the new XTS (below, left). But Cadillac hasn't always been the go-to car company for presidential whips.
Lincoln has actually provided far more presidential limousines throughout history than Cadillac. In fact, the first car modified for Commander-in-Chief-carrying duty was a 1939 Lincoln K-Series called "Sunshine Special" used by Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the last Lincoln used by a president was a 1989 Town Car ordered for George H.W. Bush. If President Obama wanted a Lincoln today, it would likely be an amalgam of the MKS sedan and MKT crossover, as illustrated above.
And what about Chrysler? The only record we could find of a President favoring the Pentastar is Nixon, who reportedly ordered two limos from the company during his administration in the '70s, and then another one, known today as the "K-Car limo," in the '80s after he left office. Obama, however, has a personal - if modest - connection to Chryslers, having owned a 300 himself before he took office. A 300-based Beast (above, right) would certainly earn the U.S. some style points.

2015 Lincoln Navigator puts on a brave face, offers EcoBoost V6 only

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Lincoln has finally given its SUV a facelift after seven long years.
Seven years is a long time. For the auto industry, though, seven years is an absolute eternity. Most vehicles receive clean-sheet redesigns within the span of seven years, usually getting a facelift of some sort after year three or four. Not Lincoln.
