Gorgeous 2002 Mercedes S600 V12 with under 64k miles. This car has every option available, parktronic, power everything, (front and rear seats, head rests, mirrors, trunk lid, steering wheel tilt and telescope, rear window sunshade) I purchased this car 2 years ago and if you dont think driving a luxury car can be that much different you haven't driven a true luxury car. This car was 150k originally and you can tell when you drive it. The seats are heated and cooled and the front seats have massage pulse as well. The headliner is suede, this car drives like its riding on a cloud. If you want to feel German performance just press the gas pedal and feel the V12 engine throw you back in the leather appointed seats.

since I have purchased it I have done the following work to it:

new plugs
new oil coolant lines
new ignition coil
new battery
added built in charger

Anyone who knows these cars will recognize that the above is about 7k in work. I did these repairs because I take care of my cars like they are my children. I also added the rims, 20" staggered TSW willow rims with Nitto 555 tires (front 225x8 back 275x10) these tires grab the road fantastic, plus they look bad ass, especially from behind the tires are almost a foot across.

This is my second Mercedes and I can't say enough about these cars. The reason I am selling it is it's a 4th vehicle for me and it's time to let someone else enjoy it so I can move onto the next toy. Don't let this car pass you by, seriously you can't imagine the looks you get in this car with the black car, tinted windows, 20" rims, tinted tail light covers looks like it should be a movie star driving it.

I have been 100% honest in my description but if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I also have a CARFAX vehicle report on this car never had one accident, not one blemish on the report in fact it says it should add $800 to book value because of the extremely low miles and condition making it book at over 20k

Thanks for looking!

On Jan-31-13 at 14:08:52 PST, seller added the following information:

for those looking at this auction I have set the reserve at $16000. that is a little over 4000 less then the book on this car. So if you are considering bidding thought you might like to know that.

thanks.

European automakers gear up for Brazilian production

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Brazil is the place to be, apparently. Toyota has been investing in the South American country, as has BMW, which announced a $261 million investment in October 2012, on the heels of an Audi factory announcement in San José Chiapa. The high-end immigration is only set to continue, as Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar-Land Rover have both announced plans to set up manufacturing operations there.
Mercedes is the big news here, as its new facility will see the German manufacturer invest 170-million euros for production of its next-generation C-Class and upcoming GLA-Class. "Brazil is an important future market. With our local production we accept the challenge and take on the competition," noted Andreas Renschler, Management Board member for Production and Procurement at Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans. Production is expected to begin by 2016.
Jaguar-Land Rover, meanwhile, isn't so concrete in its plans. The news of its investment in South America comes from a job posting for a plant quality manager in Brazil that was picked up by the UK's AutoCar. "Portuguese language skills will be definite advantage" for interested candidates, according to the job listing. The want ad follows on the heels of remarks by Jaguar Land Rover's Dr. Ralph Speth, who said there are "very intensive discussions" with Brazil's government. Unlike Mercedes, there's no mention of which vehicles will be produced in South America, although AutoCar thinks the Freelander, sold in the US as the LR2, is a leading contender.

Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.

Watch Schumacher's hot lap of N"urburgring in Mercedes F1 car

Fri, 31 May 2013

In advance of the Nürburgring 24-hour race last weekend, Mercedes-Benz put on a demonstration that had Michael Schumacher playing catch-up in a Formula One car against four examples of AMG metal. There were four cars sent off in staggered starts before Schumacher: an A45 AMG, E63 AMG 4Matic, SLS AMG Black Series, and an SLS AMG GT3 car. "Mr. Formula One," as the German television commentators call him, left three minutes after the SLS AMG GT3.
There are two videos of Schumacher's lap, the first is on-board footage - and even though there were several GoPros on the car the POV never cuts away from the front wing. You can hear the throttle and tell he's not pushing it, you can also tell how bumpy the track is. The second video is footage from the German Sport1 channel - with commentary in German - that shows all the cars taking off and takes the aerial view of proceedings. He looks to be going a lot faster in that one. You can compare and contrast yourself with the videos below.
Oh, and it's worth noting that, even with the likely restricted car, and the made-for-TV environment, Schumi turned in a quick lap. The nose camera shows the F1 car start to slow down on the back straight, near the start/finish line, right around the modern-length track record time of six minutes and eleven seconds.
