1973 Porsche 914 Fresh 2.0 94mm Pistons, Webers, Side Shift on 2040-cars

This 914 is a great driver or strip it down, fix the rust, paint it and have a great Porsche. This 914 was parked in 1994 with a bent push rod that was mistakenly diagnosed as a bad rod. The car was covered and forgotten until I heard about it 3 years ago. A great find. Unfortunately moisture had started to eat at the car. Fortunately, the battery had already been relocated to the trunk and the hell hole is solid. The 1.7 had been replaced with a 2.0 and carbs. I rebuild the GA case with new 94mm pistons and cylinders, performance cam, re-worked heads, new valves and Weber 42 IDF carbs. It runs great.
The interior is in very good condition and still has the 1980s alpine stereo. It has a side shifter transmission with a new clutch and new bushings in the short throw shifter and linkage. The Mahle wheels are in good condition and the tires are new. The windshield wipers do not work and there is a hole in the top. The car was originally green and re-painted in blue Imron in the late 80s. It still shines great despite the rust. This car runs and drives great! No issues. Enjoy it like it is or refinish it to show quality, either way you will have a great car. |

Porsche-Piech buy 10% stake in VW's holding company
Tue, 18 Jun 2013In August, 2009, as the scuttled merger of Porsche and Volkswagen had gone bad and Porsche was backed up against the ropes, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAHSE) relinquished a ten-percent stake in itself to Qatar Holdings as well as options it held on 17 percent of VW shares. The sale meant that, for the first time since the founding of the company 61 years before, an entity outside the Porsche and Piech families had a say in the running of PAHSE.
Buying that ten-percent stake back returns full ownership to the two families, the holding company's sole possession being ownership of 50.7 percent of VW's common shares. The price paid wasn't disclosed, but at market rates the purchase would be worth close to $1.25 billion. Qatar intends to hold onto the 17-percent stake it has in Volkswagen.
Porsche testing four-cylinder Boxster at the N?rburgring
Fri, 09 May 2014Porsche recently introduced a four-cylinder version of the new Macan for markets outside of North America, carrying Zuffenhausen's first four-pot since the 968 ended its production run the better part of two decades ago. But you can bet the compact crossover won't be the only Porsche to get the four banger before all's said and done. These spy shots, we're told, are evidence of just that.
Spotted undergoing testing at the Nürburgring (where else), this modified Boxster, our spy photographers tell us, sounds more like a four-cylinder engine than the flat six that's powered (in displacements ranging from 2.5 liters to 3.4) every version of the little roadster since its introduction in 1996, the year after the last four-cylinder Porsche ended production.
The test mule is also wearing modified wheel arches and aerodynamic aids under the bumpers, front and rear. Just what they're doing there we're not sure, but we'll probably find out sooner or later.
'Latest production version' of Porsche 918 shown off on Twitter
Fri, 16 Aug 2013Porsche posted a picture of what it is calling "the latest production version" of the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder on Twitter. It looks like the gasoline-hybrid supercar is being driven sportively on some California back roads during Monterey Speed Week.
Whatever updates were made to this version aren't visual (except for the paint), as the one Chris Harris drove last spring and another seen hot-weather testing in Nevada both had production bodies. We presume the changes are relatively minor and more than skin deep - perhaps brake calibration, suspension tuning or tweaks to the powertrain - but Porsche didn't release any more information.
The 918 Spyder is Porsche's latest supercar, which will compete with the LaFerrari and the McLaren P1 hybrid supercars. The Porsche may be the underdog of the group when considering horsepower, acceleration, top speed and price, but the 887-horsepower brute has the most advanced hybrid drivetrain of the three.
