2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 in white over black interior. I'm sure if you're looking at this ad, you'll know what a special car the GT4 is and why these cars were sold out well before deliveries began.
This specific car has truly been babied, well cared for, and in perfect condition. Clean title, and zero accident
or paintwork. The car is garaged (non-smoking owner), and professionally detailed every 14 days. The GT4 has never been raced or tracked (although I'm positive this would be the car to do it in). The car's paint was also protected from the moment it was delivered to me. The car went to Adonis Details under the care of Tim Coats for his full "Track Package" XPEL clear bra protection! BBi Autosports installed their roll bar/harness bar, and their wing risers. Lastly, we installed a Vorsteiner satin carbon wing blade (end caps painted white) along with an APR carbon gurney flap (the setup mimics the GT4 Clubsport setup closely). I also had Signature Autobody paint the brake calipers in OEM Acid Green (found on 918 Spyder). The brakes were painted the right way (full removal, stripped, then repainted on all sides. Black Porsche scripts were put down before being cleared) Full break down of modifications and OEM options are listed below. The car also includes all OEM books, OEM sunshade and key. The car is also under the remaining FULL factory warranty.

Here are the mods:

- Vorsteiner satin carbon wing blade (wing plates painted white)
- APR satin carbon gurney flap
- BBI black wing risers
- BBI roll bar/harness bar (white)
- Xpel Ultimate Clear bra (complete track pack)

- Acid Green caliper paint job (by Signature Autobody)

Porsche 918 Spyder burns to ground in gas station conflagration

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

There's one fewer Porsche 918 Spyder zipping along the roads of Toronto, Canada, today. A fire at a gas station over the weekend claimed one of the hybrid supercars in a massive blaze, and a portion of the inferno was caught on video.
According to our partners to the North at Autoblog Canada, the cause of the fire hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but witnesses reportedly claimed gasoline somehow came into contact with the hot exhaust outlets that exit out of the top of the supercar's engine bay. This was just one of two 918s believed to be in the Toronto area.
Other than a possible broken heart from the owner, the fire reportedly caused no injuries, and only the Porsche and gas pump appeared to sustain serious damage. Warning, the video of the conflagration does contain some explicit language.

Porsche unlocks secrets of its mid-engine 911

Fri, 23 May 2014

Porsche is beginning to realize that it's sitting on a goldmine of automotive history with its secret vault full of rare cars. Autoblog toured it a few months ago, and we were amazed at all of the curiosities hidden inside. Now, it's starting to let more folks in thanks to a new series of YouTube videos. The first covered the 965 prototype that shoved a water-cooled, Audi V8 into one of its cars. Next up, a mid-engine 911 that acted as the powertrain test mule for the Boxster.
The Porsche 911 is inextricably linked to its rear-engine layout. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. However, at the time Porsche was developing the Boxster, the company didn't want to lay all of its cards out of the table during testing. As opposed to using camouflage, it put a whole different car on top. The prototype looked just like any other 911 Targa of the day, but the biggest giveaway that something was amiss was the heavily tinted rear window. By obscuring it, inquisitive journalists couldn't peak at the new engine that replaced the backseat.
It might not look like anything too important on the outside, but this is a major piece of Porsche Boxster history underneath. Scroll down to watch the video about this fascinating prototype.

Porsche patent sketches show removable headrest wind deflector

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

While driving around in a convertible might seem glamorous, ask anyone with long hair and they'll likely tell you how it really is: the wind buffets, your hair goes everywhere and it's anything but glamorous. That's why you see so many convertibles driving with their tops up, their windows up or wind deflectors in place. But Porsche is apparently preparing to kick it up to the next level.
These patent drawings have leaked out, demonstrating what appears to be some new kind of wind-deflecting device being developed by Porsche. The mechanism is apparently fitted to the headrest itself and designed to keep the wind buffeting specifically around the head down to a minimum while allowing the car's occupants to enjoy the top-down driving experience.
No word on when it might hit the market, but we won't be surprised to see this kind of device appear on a future version of the Boxster or 911 Cabriolet. But nowhere else: despite the apparent leak, the patent drawings suggest that Porsche will be keeping this technology proprietary. Whether sister brands like Volkswagen, Bentley or Lamborghini will get their hands on it remains to be seen.
