98 1998 Saab 900se Turbo 5spd Converitble on 2040-cars

For sale is a 1998 Saab 900se convertible. We purchased a 4 door car because of having a second child now and can no longer use this vehicle. The car is in great running condition. Couple cosmetic flaws but nothing major. It has minor electrical issues. The passenger seat electrical controls are shorting a fuse out. In the dash the tachometer and gas gauge decide not to work all the time. Probably a loose connection. The last issue is getting the top down. I can get it down but it requires some help along the way. Other than these few issues the car does run and drive fantastic. I am a mechanic and have been keeping up with all of the maintenance required since we've owned the car. I did recharge the a/c last year and replaced the fuel pump in the gas tank. I believe we are the 3rd owner of this car. The previous owner had left us with all of the service records that were preformed by a Saab dealership. That being said the car was mechanically kept up with since new. We purchased the car with 144,000 miles and now has about 156,000 miles. The vehicle is sold as is and local pickup only. The Saab 9-3 that never was finally shows up
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Looking back on the life and [slow and painful] death of Saab, it's impossible to not stop and think of what might have been with the quirky Swedish automaker. As it turns out, SaabsUnited has decided to shed some light on what the company's future might have looked like, including some images and information that include full-scale mockups of the 9-3 Phoenix, which you see above.
In its waning years, Saab's lead designer Jason Castriota was working feverishly to deliver new products that built on the heritage of the brand while doing so at a lower cost and in a shorter time period than previous models. In the end, though, it sounds like the earliest that we could have seen any of these plans come to fruition was 2014. In addition to hatchback and convertible 9-3 variants, Castriota also created the Sonnett - a sporty-looking 2+2 that never made it past the design study phase.

Saab's never-was 9-3 gets a few better looks
Sat, 23 Mar 2013The recent glimpses we've been getting of the never-was Saab 9-3 Phoenix must be like rubbing salt on the wounds of all the Saab fans out there. If that's the case, diehard Saab enthusiasts might want to look away from this. SaabWorld has uncovered a handful of shots of what was to be the next-generation 9-3 hatchback, and boy does it look sharp.
Revealing a clearer look at what we previously saw in grainy images or as a full-scale model, these new pictures show what Jason Castriota had in mind for the new car. The front end is obviously inspired by Saab's Phoenix Concept, while the rear of the car pays homage to the Saab 900 hatchback.

New owners still struggling to secure rights to use Saab name
Wed, 27 Jun 2012Not to state the obvious, but if you're going to buy an automaker, it's probably advisable to secure rights to use the name.
That's what the new owners of Saab are trying to work out after buying the iconic Swedish automaker earlier this month, Automotive News reports.
National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), the Chinese-Japanese conglomerate, acquired the company's physical assets, including its factory in Trollhättan, but didn't get rights to use the Saab name and logo. Truckmaker Scania and defense company Saab AB maintain the name and logo rights, and will need to sign off on NEVS using it, according to the publication. The parties are in discussions.
