The 1992 has a 3.3 liter V6 engine, transmission is good, no mechanical problems prior to the front left fender accident (see pics, fuse and battery boxes damaged, windshield cracked). Loaded with interior features. Pirelli tires all the way around. Very nice driving and plenty of power, once repaired of course. BONUS: 1994 SVX (JF1CX3359RK103619) to the winning bidder! All replacement parts can be found on the 1994 (See pics). The 1994 is missing the transmission, I have no idea if the motor is any good or not. The previous owner had no history on it either. Regardless, the block is aluminum and I have heard that these lightweight V6's are sought after by sand rail builders for their power and lightweight design. All glass is good, most of the metal is good (a couple small dings in the rear quarters). Both vehicles will need to be hauled away, winning bidder responsible for all transporting costs. Small reserve to recoup our costs, we have over $5000 into these vehicle. |

Subaru getting creative in these two very different WRX STI viral videos
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Subaru is getting into viral videos with two new, radically different shorts to promote the 2015 WRX STI; both are pretty entertaining. They are certainly more interesting, from an enthusiast perspective, than the company's dog-oriented advertising campaign and sponsorship of the Puppy Bowl.
The first promotes a new grindhouse-style short film that Subaru is launching, which is cheekily called The Ride of Her Life, and it previews the full deal due on March 13. While It's just a glimpse at the moment, if Subaru really leans into the cheesy, 1970s-style, then the full video could be really enjoyable.
The second video is a new take on an idea we've seen before but is still very cool. There might be some digital trickery going on in some of the "Stick bomb" shots, but the result is still exciting. Subaru Viziv 2 presages Tribeca replacement with diesel hybrid tech
Mon, 31 Mar 2014Subaru is in the middle of a new product bonanza. It has recent replacements for the Impreza and Forester at dealers, and soon we're getting the WRX, Legacy and if rumors are right the new Outback as well. Now, there are rumblings that there could be two more models from the Japanese brand on the way with styling inspired by the Viziv 2 concept from the Geneva Motor Show.
According to a company insider speaking with Motor Trend, the crossover concept shows the way for the brand's future design language. The shape would be used on a smaller CUV that is still being kept quite secret, and a second, larger one that would replace the recently axed Tribeca. The bigger model is the first priority and is planned as a new technology showcase.
It's rumored to use a turbodiesel, four-cylinder boxer engine that would be boosted with one electric motor on the front axle and two at the rear, with a plug-in hybrid system sourced from Toyota. It should provide a great mix of torque and fuel economy. A smaller flat-six engine would be a second powertrain option. Though the Viziv 2 concept only seats four, the production version would probably offer three rows.
2013 Subaru WRX Special Edition
Fri, 14 Dec 2012Two months ago, I was carving pumpkins in a canyon - last week, I was carving canyons in a pumpkin. I genuinely prefer the latter.
It's hard to miss the 2013 Subaru WRX Special Edition. The twins (the automaker is offering the package on both the WRX and its higher-performing STI sibling - just 300 copies in total) arrive in Tangerine Orange paint with Jet Black wheels, black exterior mirrors and black front fender badges. The purely cosmetic upgrades are carried inside the cabin with black cloth upholstery contrasted with orange stitching on the seats, doors, shift boot and piping on the floor mats.
After a day, I completely forgot about the controversial orange paint (you either love or hate its burnt pumpkin color) and focused on the simple joy of driving the rally-inspired Subaru WRX.
