1968 Chevy Caprice all original with matching numbers 396ci, 325hp engine and TD 400 Transmission

This is a sweet Caprice, I have had since 2005 and had been restoring until 2010. I am the second owner and car is an original Eastern Washington car, very dry.
Started the restoration by sand blasting the whole vehicle down to bare metal, found some rust that needed repairing, replaced both lower quarter panels and patched both front fenders with all new metal. Then primer, body work and original Chevy red paint, base coat clear coat, buffed to glass finish. New windshield, original side and back glass and new vinyl top. interior was fully gone threw in all original color ways, new carpet, head liner, seats and cushions recovered. New dash pad and dash repainted. stereo was installed in glove box, with aux cable. Two ten inch MTX sub woofers, and 600 watt amp, sounds great and trunk and quarter panels are Dynamatted. Trunk is also fulling boxed in and carpeted to match sub box and inside of trunk lid, looks really clean and simple. 22" wire wheels have been installed and look sharp on this car, i really like the look and it turns heads although not for everyone, so I can offer original wheels, white walls and hub caps, please let me know if that is the way you like it before bidding. 22" wheels are in good shape with a couple small imperfections and chrome is not perfect. tires are good.

Now for the Best thing ever!!! The all original never molested, never pulled out only tuned up and kept in tip top shape, the 396ci, 325 hp big block Chevy. This thing is a beast. never had a better sound more power or a better looking block. I love this engine and was the main reason I bought the car. Numbers all match and can be decoded in the pictures. Carburetor was rebuilt a little while ago and starts up and runs so smooth, no stall or delays. New radiator, and fluids and everything checked regularly. New battery was just installed, due to sitting for a while. new Magnaflow dual exhaust also installed and sounds perfect. I have spent a ton of time and energy to make this Caprice a head turning, fun, easy to own car. so many parts where purchased threw classic industries, including lights, interior parts, chrome belt moldings, metal replacement parts, and tons more.

Lots of pictures, and documentation of the restoration. will include with sale.

Thanks a ton for looking and happy bidding, any questions feel free to email.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
