1978 Chevy Monte Carlo Landau White Leather Interior V8 Automatic on 2040-cars
Olympia, Washington, United States
1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Landau - in excellent shape. Only 50,000 miles!
5.0L V8, Leather, Automatic, Bucket seats, tilt steering, cruise control, power brakes, power door locks, power windows, intermittent wipers, power antenna, tinted glass, white wall tires. Purchased originally in Southern California so it has California emissions. Built at the Fremont California assembly plant. (I have the original build list) Nothing has been modified except for a new headliner and body moldings were replaced when the car was repainted in 2011. Only 2 owners (same family) Looks and runs great. Drives like a boat! As with any car that's a classic a few things don't work perfectly. So in the interest of full disclosure and to save everyone's time here's what I know: A/C needs recharging Passenger electric window intermittent Drive selector doesn't display - always shows in park. Electric clock inop. Drivers bucket seat has a couple of minor cracks - the rest of the leather is in very very good condition. Center console lid needs reattaching (cosmetically o.k.) Power antenna is disconnected Drivers window visor is missing I hate to get rid of this car as it's been in the family so long. But I don't have space to garage it any longer and it just doesn't get driven. It needs a new home to someone that wants to take care of a classic automobile. This is a great car that runs good and would make a good show car if given a little tlc. |

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette
Mon, 04 Feb 2013If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups
Mon, 14 Oct 2013General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.
