San Diego, California, United States

I am selling this car because my company is relocating and I have had a blast with this car. I don't want to have the car back East.
It has been a CA car garaged since I bought it 10 years ago. I really would like to see it go to a person who intends to use the car. I am in no hurry to sell.

Outside:
The paint is in awesome shape. No spider cracks.
It does have some nicks in the back and front. They are in the photos.
The front and rear bumpers are not on the car. I have the rear bumper but it needs a new front bumper.
The windshield needs to be reset.

Interior:
The headliner is not installed the way it should be.
The front drivers seat has a tear on the passenger side of the seat. I have a replacement seat in the box to replace it.
The radio is not stock. It is a  radio with CD/ DVD playing capabilities.
The door panels replace or reline the originals.
All the gauges are Smith with the exception of the Amp meter.
The electric windows work slow.
The cowling in between the seats needs some work.
The speedometer cable has been out since I bought it. I have the replacement it just needs to be installed.

Engine & Transmission:
Very strong engine!
The 5 speed transmission works fine.
The car RPM drops low some times. The ignition light comes on if you do not rev the engine.

Frame:
No RUST
The car is set up to rally race it has adjustable shocks, PanSprot rims, and a rare Spider Frame.

I have used the car as a 3 day driver each week for over a year now.
.
"This Lotus Is Reliable"
The car is in very good condition. I have had it registered since I bought it.
Car has new electronic ignition. Installed one year ago

It handles even better then a stock lotus.

Possible trade for cash and 750-1000cc motorcycle in good condition.

Lotus Evora S IPS automatic transmission option arrives in October [w/video]

Sat, 28 Jul 2012

The Lotus Evora S IPS that the company showed drifting all around its test track earlier this year will be available in October, says Car and Driver. The kinder, gentler Lotus is fitted with the six-speed Intelligent Precision Shift transmission, an Aisin unit swiped from the Toyota Camry and retuned with Lotus electronics and actuators.
There are two 'regular' modes and two 'sport' modes on the IPS gearbox. The former include a traditional hands-off automatic and an auto mode with shifts handled by wheel-mounted paddles. The latter are a sport automatic setting that sharpens the car's responses and a manual sport mode for total driver control. The Evora S IPS hits showrooms in October. For now, you can take a look at Lotus' test driver giving it the beans in the video below.

Lotus F1 apologizes for tweeting support for LGBT Olympians

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

The Lotus Formula One Team is apologizing after its official Twitter account posted this image of two men kissing in connection to the opening of the Winter Olympics on Friday, February 7. It claims that the original tweet was "unauthorized."
The tweet, which Lotus deleted later that day, can be viewed to the right and was promptly replaced an apology that said, "We would like to sincerely apologise for an unauthorized message posted on our Twitter account today & will ensure this cannot happen again." Responses to the kerfuffle on its Twitter page have mostly focused on confusion as to what the original tweet was and why it was removed.
While the Sochi Olympics have been controversial among LBGT groups because of Russia's laws banning so-called "gay propaganda," the country has a growing importance in F1. In fact, the first Russian Grand Prix is scheduled to run later this season on a circuit around the Sochi Olympic Park. Genii Capital, the team's owner, has business interests in Russia, and according to the BBC, the Lotus F1 team is working on a deal to with Russian mobile phone company Yotaphone to sell it 10 percent of the team.

Lotus to receive $16M government grant

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Troubled British automaker Lotus is getting a second infusion of cash following a 100-million-pound ($161.5-million) investment by its parent company DRB-Hicom that was made in August. The substantially smaller investment, a mere 10 million pounds ($16.2 million), comes from the British government's Regional Growth Fund.
The fund, which is part of a 3-billion-pound ($4.8-billion) fund to spur economic growth in the UK, will allow Lotus to invest even further in research and development as it seeks to reinvent its lineup of lightweight sports cars. The fund will also allow the UK-based outfit to provide further training for its new crop of employees.
"This grant is part of a wider strategy for Lotus created to ensure we thrive and grow. We are responding to increased global demand for our cars and engineering consultancy services and this grant will help to position Lotus as the forefront of global automotive innovation," said Aslam Farikullah (shown above with UK Business Secretary Vince Cable MP), the chief operating officer at Lotus.
